A proximity detector block outputs a redstone signal when the player is X blocks away, and it outputs a signal that goes Y blocks. The X and Y values can be edited. This can be used to activate something just by going towards it. For example, rather than pressing a button or flipping a switch, you can just walk toward a wall with a piston door, and it will automatically open. If you have button activated command blocks in adventure maps, the proximity detector could be used instead. Maybe to have it deactivate, the X value would actually be coordinates.
This isn't a very well made suggestion. When you come up with a block it would help to include things like recipe and images of the block in use. Besides that it would be alright but its use seems limited.
For the idea, I really do not see why we need to take player creativity away and just add a block. That feels so dumbed down. Why do we need a block when we can use spawners and pressure plates?
