Well, we all love the addition of Nether Quartz, but it only has two uses. Here's a challenging way to get great tools using Nether Quartz. The suggestion of the Nether-Fused Ingot. This ingot is the most challenging material to get. It is not the rarest, however. It requires many materials found throughout the Nether. Crafting together the needed materials rewards 5 Nether-Fused Ingots Here's the easiest way to gather the needed materials:
1. Nether Mining: You're gonna need a good pick for two of the materials needed. You'll need some quartz and some netherrack. But it's not the netherrack itself you need. You'll see. You're going to need two pieces of quartz and one piece of netherrack.
2. Hunting: By now you should have a good sword and some potions brewed. You're going to need some blaze rods and blaze powder. Instead of sticks in these tools, you'll need blaze rods. You'll also need a magma cream, so it's a bit easier to just get the slimeball and the extra blaze rod. You'll need one magma cream and the number of blaze rods needed for the tool. You'll also have to get a Fire Charge.
3. Wither Skeletons: Wither Skeletons are the toughest enemies of the Nether for most people. They'll now have the commonly-suggested Dark Bone drop. They're dropped much more often than the Wither Skeleton Skulls. You'll need two of these.
4. The Final Step: You'll need to go Creeper or Ghast hunting, because the final ingredient needed is a Fire Charge. Ghasts are hard to collect the gunpowder from, but easier to find, making the Ghast a better choice for a skilled player to fight.
5. Assemble: All the materials you've collected are in the final stage except one material: Nether Brick. Smelt your piece of Netherrack to make a Nether Brick. Here is how to assemble the Nether-Fused Ingot:
Top-Left: Nether Quartz
Top-Middle: Magma Cream
Top-Right: Nether Quartz
Middle-Left: Empty
Very Middle: Nether Brick
Middle-Right: Empty
Bottom-Left: Dark Bone
Bottom-Middle: Fire Charge
Bottom-Right: Dark Bone
Once again, this crafting recipe rewards 5 Nether-Fused Ingots, which can be used to make armor and tools. Each tool has its own benefit, and a full set of Nether-Fused Armor gives you all 20 armor points and full fire resistance, making you an unstoppable Nether Machine. Here is the full list of benefits for tools and armor:
Nether-Fused Pick: Automatically smelts what you mine. However, the entity also comes out on fire. Durability: 2000
Nether-Fused Sword: Has Fire Aspect I automatically built in, but is only as strong as an iron sword. Durability: 2000
Nether-Fused Axe: Unbreakable, but very low efficiency. Durability: ∞
Nether-Fused Shovel: Same as Axe Duruability: ∞
Nether-Fused Hoe: Permanately tills ground, but low durability. Durability: 200
Armor: Same as diamond protection-wise. All armor has 2000 durability. Full set gives player immunity to fire and lava.
v1.0:
-Added Nether-Fused Ingot, Dark Bones, Nether-Fused armor and tools.
-Made crafting recipe
-Made tool and armor perks
The ingot given looks like nether brick, but a brighter shade of red with white specks. If you have any suggestions, post them here! If you like my idea, click that mysterious green arrow in the corner!
Yes, but that's why it rewards five ingots. Perhaps I can change it to more :/
No, it's the fact that is it only a tool tier, Jeb said that there aren't going to be anymore. And its pretty much diamond with full fire resist 3 on it automatically, which can be controlled by enchantments, so we don't need it. The auto-smelt tools would make furnaces obsolete. Infinite durability is pretty overpowered, no matter how you get it, you can just plot a efficiency 4 down on it to get rid of that problem.

Gives more stuff for the nether.
But not too much.
(One-up)
P.S. Possible way of turning Nether Quartz into a fuel source? Pelt me with ideas on that. The ingot itself shouldn't be the fuel, though.
