Hello, I never really know how to start these posts but I guess I just did.
So I have been thinking of this idea for a while now, it's Super Hardcore Mode (WIP Name).
It's something I've always wanted since Hardcore mode was added.
he reason being:
Minecraft is a fairly easy game for veterans
The current Hardcore mode is more annoying then it is hard
A harder mode could "spice" things up a bit for hardcore player
Well know that you know the reason I think that the Super Hardcore Mode should be added let me tell you more about what I think it should change.
A thirst system: This system would be pretty much like the hunger system, but with maybe a twist once you lose water you don't take damage you start to see things like mobs, creepers, enderman, zombies but deformed and screaming. (This idea might sound silly but it could be neat if done right. The Thirst system by it's self is really what I would want but the "seeing things" would be cool) or if you don't like that then you do take damage. The way to get this thirst back is to either make bottles and drink them, drink potions, drink buckets (This mechanic would be Super Hardcore only) eating foods (This would be a small amount since food has some natural liquids in it) or canting (More below) I hope that's how you spell that.
Improved Smelting System: This is a very simple idea, and has been recommended before. It's just the idea that you can really smelt anything wooden. On top of this there could be a campfire entity/block (Not sure which one yet) and this could be just like a furnace but it's only a little more then half the speed and doesn't cook blocks. The recipe would be like this:
[/] [] [/]
[] [0] []
[/] [] [/]
/ = Sticks
0 = Flint or maybe coal
(These are for the whole game NOT just the gamemode, thanks Zippy for the correction)New mobs: I am not really into things like new mobs or ores, more things like features but I think a few new mobs would be nice. Here are some:
Bee's and a bee hive. This would come with a block/entity (Again, not sure which one) and this would be where the bee mob (More on later) comes at night time. If you hit the block/entity hostile bee's would come out and attack you (2-5 each time you hit it). After you hit it five times (Four with any sword and three with diamond) a few honey drop (More on later), now this honey I am not sure about but I want to know what you guys think.
Now for the bee's them self's wouldn't spawn, they would naturally come out of the bee hive and threw out the day go to any flowers near by and bring back the honey or pollen (I don't know much about bee's so I don't know which one). If you kill them they don't drop anything but XP. They are also like Zombies and they aggro in groups. They can't go in water either or they die like endermen.
Honey would be an item, I am not sure if this should be a part of it but again, that's what these forums are for right Okay: So this would be an item dropped by bee hives specified above. It would be used to make slime balls by the recipe below.

O = Honey
That's it for the honey/bees/bee hive.
Last but not least, Herobrin- oh sorry wrong thread. Okay last is the canting: This item could be crafted one of two ways or maybe two different things not sure. It would be used to hydrate the thirst bar. It would hydrate 3.5 slot things. Here's the two ways I was thinking about crafting.

I don't know if this would be a different item or a wooden canting, I think it should be a wooden canting that hydrates 2 slots of hydration. It can be filled at any water source and doesn't take away the source block. It can also be filled by a cauldron but only three times (Like a bottle).
That's all! I hope you like the idea, it took quite awhile to type but it's worth it. If all goes well or not I might end up making a mod of this which would be neat but even better if it could be in the game!
So tell me what you think and thanks for reading! Also to access the gamemode you would either be in game and type "/Gamemode 3" but for the new bee hive to spawn you would need to load new chunks or when you make a world you change it then.
Sorry this post is so long and if it's not in enough detail just tell me I can fix it. Thanks again! :]
The current Hardcore mode is more annoying then it is hard Just like your thirst system. Another bar to keep monitoring and having a headache over will add to the annoyance. No, it doesn't matter if it's realistic. It's unfun. I understand you want to add a challenge, but there are ways of doing that without digging into gameplay and ruining it.
Improved Smelting System: But if this is "super" hardcore, why is there an improved positive?Added benefits ruin the point of this being a super hardcore mode.
New mobs: I am not really into things like new mobs or ores, more things like features but I think a few new mobs would be nice. Here are some: Dude, this doesn't make any sense. Why are there new mobs that appear only in this new mode? It doesn't work that way. People may enjoy your new mobs, but might not want to play "super hardcore mode" just to see them. That's just complicating things.
This is why normal Hardcore works so well, it leaves the game alone and doesn't tinker with anything. The only difference is that you get one shot at life and you can't change the difficulty in a cowering attempt to save yourself. It's not much differences, but they're very big differences - because even though you're paranoid to not lose that one life, you can still enjoy everything the game offers.

Hey, you there. Yes, you! Are you thinking about posting a suggestion on the forums anytime soon? If so, please read this before doing so.
Augh... I was actually interested in this suggestion until you got to the "thirst system". That was an extreme bonerkill for me.
Yup I understand where you are both coming from. The head-ach thing is just an idea to see what everyone liked and I defiantly see how it could be annoying. I am not trying to make is realistic by any means just harder but more survival-ish.
EDIT: Haha about the mobs sorry about that I meant to say it's in the whole game not just the game mode. That's a mistake on my part, fixed thanks!
EDIT 2: I keep forgetting things >.< Anyway, the reason I don't like Hardcore mode which I never specified is that it's more stressful and annoying then hard. I mean, I find the "hard" mode more hard the hardcore. This is just my opinion and I don't know if this is what anyone else is thinking
And for the improved smelting thing it's not suppose to make it easier it's suppose to complement the campfire idea. It won't make anything really easier or harder (Well I guess you could say it's easier) but it's all so decoration like if you are building a full wool tent around a camp fire a working one instead of having a furnace around would be neat and very useful and that's the point it also be useful.
@Blootz thanks for reading though, also is it just the thirst system you don't like or the mode a whole?
Ah the thirst suggestion ... Whenever I hear it I cry to myself thinking "People think a 2D Game about placing blocks should be realalistic" and adding new mods and all that other crap is just redundant and more moddy than what should be added.
Honestly I think this is just a very redundant suggestion.

No support.
I don't agree but thanks for reading!

TL:DR Baby panda's a amazing, go buy one.
Presumably that's the super-hardcore part of it.
Not a bad idea, but isn't a somewhat good idea, either.
In conclusion; no support.
