My idea allows you the ability to kill animals or mobs instantly or very quickly if the player hits them in the right spot. For instance, you may want to kill a cow with a bow. Shoot the cow in the heart and it is instantly killed. You only used one arrow! Another example. Zombies. Where do you want to aim if you were ever attacked by a zombie in real life? Answer: The head. The brain is the only thing keeping the undead alive, so that's what you want to destroy. One hit to the head with an iron sword will kill this beast. Wooden and stone swords, maybe like two hits. There are many other mobs with weaksopts. Let me just name a few more examples.
Spider: Thorax
Skeleton: Chest
Endermen: Legs
Pig: Heart
Squid: Buttox
How do you know where you're hitting them? Well, with my idea it also includes the ability to press "r" and be able to see marks on mobs around you. There will be from 1-3 red spots on each mob in a certain area, surrounded by yellow. Then the rest is uncolored. The yellow parts are weak but not as weak as the red spots. If you hit the red spot with a decent arrow or sword, it should be a one hit kill or a two hit kill depending on the mob you're fighting. Mobs such as golems will not have weak spots.
In addition, the enderdragon and wither boss can have weak spots as well. If you hit the enderdragon in the wings or neck, this will do more damage. Damaging a dragon in the neck in real life (if they existed) would take more effect, and if you damage the wings, the dragon won't fly very well. This is if you damage it enough. The wither's weak spot would be its middle head, the main part of the body. Do you think it sees through all heads at once? In my opinion, there are basically three withers in one, but hit the middle head and it will do more damage than anywhere else, making them easier to defeat.
My idea, of course, can also be toggled. Go into the settings on the menu when you press "esc" and you can turn on/off the hotspots action if you don't want to play with it. Thank you for reading this idea.
Eh, this would just take lots more coding and make rendering mobs or having more out at a time take more processing power. Not really that great a benefit, either; most mob's hitboxes are pretty small as is and pixel-hunting for critical hits isn't all that fun.
One thing I can add, the main hit points won't be as small as a pixel or anything like that. That is OP. the best weak spot would be around the size of a button, and then the rest of the weak spots around that point. you will be able to see that if you have the settings set to the right setting where you can actually see the targets on their bodies.
