Eagle:Found almost everywhere except the nether. When killed drops a eagle feather which lets you jumps up to 10 blocks though only has 20 uses. Can be tamed with raw chicken. After tamed will act like wolves such as attack hostile mobs. Special equipment needed such cages.
Ostrich: Found only on the plains can be tamed with seeds and rode like a pig except faster. When killed drops a ostrich feather which if you surround boots with it will allow you to run faster.
Penguin:Lives in snow biomes can be tamed to pull boats see rope. If killed drop penguin feathe. If you surround armor with this you will swim faster.
Cage is can be built with sticks of any kind even diamond. If you surround and iron ingot with stone will make a
latch. Double tap the bird and give sticks and they will make a nest. Then feed bird seed to breed. Put leather leather in a line to make ropes which can be used as leashes for the birds.
This is just an idea. I am open to suggestions.
The chicken is boring. Here are new ideas.Opinion =/= Fact. But I agree- they are kind of boring after awhile.

Maybe only found in Extreme Hills [mirroring their real life habitat; Moutain-y areas?], tamed with Rotten Flesh [some Eagles eat carrion], and only appears in Easy +, like ocelots?
