Death has always been a big part in games, where the player losses "Coins" "Experience" "Gold" or in Minecrafts case all your Items.
In most games losing your items can cause the player to "rage quit" and this can get very annoying on Minecraft servers.
Concept
One solution to this would be to implement a way to prevent items from being dropped when a player dies.
What is a blessed item?
- A blessed item would be a "effect" on the item that would stay in your inventory after the player dies, but once the player dies the blessed "effect" will be removed from the item.
- To receive a blessed item you would combine the item you wish the bless with (Item X) in a anvil which requires exp
-(item X) would be some form of item that the player gets
Ways to prevent this from being "op"
- The effect is only limited to Equipment such as armor, sword, bows, and ect.
- the cost of exp needed to bless a item
- The way to receive the (item X) would require heavy effort such as getting nether stars, crafting potions or something.
Other concepts to receive bless items
Remember how villagers had that happiness system, also remember how there is a village priest. . . put two together and you get "holy water" which could be used as the (item X)
As I said before this concept is to prevent certain items from being lost, and the idea of having a chest where all your items go to after you die is op.
-There is no limit to what you can bless, but blessed items will not stack.
-You can only have 3 blessed items on your person at a time without penalties.
-For every blessed item you have (except for the first three), you will lose one heart from your max health. If you have 13 or more blessed items (meaning no hearts), you will still be alive but you will die in a single hit.
-If you die with a blessed item in your inventory, you respawn with half health and hunger rather than full. This is so you cannot immediately rush back in to battle with the advantage of full health.
