Need I say more than the title? Remember the normal pigman skin from forever ago that never got used? They need love too.
They should have similar functionality to the overworld villagers and their interaction with zombies; like being turned and bein able to be healed. And maybe they'll trade different things for different currencies, or maybe also use emeralds and have them spawn rarely in the Nether too? I don't know, but there should be pigman testificates! XP
We already have (zombie) pigmen. We already have villages. This whole thing is redundant and pointless.
Plus the tiny little detail that...Well, ya see...The Nether is essentially HELL. Fire, lava, shrieking demons. There are no TRADING POSTS in hell. Honestly...

I disagree. I could picture large caverns with pigmen living in them with bridges and stuff leading to cave houses, defending from zombie pig attacks. Just because it's hell doesn't mean there can't be some settlements. All this is doing is adding variety to villages. It's like birch trees. If Mojang was just adding them now, would you say: "We already have oaks!"?

Merely adding variety is a different matter than lazily copy-pasting the overworld into the Nether.
All this is doing is pasting an overworld feature (albeit slightly altered) into a dimension where it makes little if any sense. Trading posts in hell is simply a ridiculous and nonsensical idea even by video game standards. The Nether is a dimension very clearly intended to be a wholly hostile environment. Why would there be friendly pig settlements in such a place?

Trading posts... Or villages of survivors trying to avoid infection? Perhaps they could be both passive/friendly and sometimes hostile too, taking you to be a threat to their survival. Perhaps the zombie pigmen have gold swords because when they were pigmen, the were armed with gold swords. Maybe the villages will use gold instead of emeralds as currency (although using mainly emeralds could be better). This idea has a lot of hidden potential, all it needs is development.
Strottinglemon is right. I can see pigmen wandering the nether as residents.
It would add more of a purpose to the nether, but instead of using emeralds, they should use nether quartz or something as the trading item. Of course, the villager/pigman trading would still be incredibly unfair. I can see this as a feature, with nether brick houses.

Isn't the Nether's purpose already added in the form of potion ingredients? Ingredients that aren't found elsewhere? Unique (keyword)offerings that the overworld does not possess? The only "purpose" this would add is "Hey, here's a thing that I can already get in the default dimension!"
Let's say there are Nether villages with trading...Why would you go there when you can find the same thing in a far less dangerous overworld?
Whatever potential may be hiding here, all that's showing its face is a shameless clone of the extant village system. I'd rather see the Nether removed entirely than turned into a pointless double of the overworld.
Uuugh... Another pigmen thread? Will we ever catch a break? It's pretty clear they aren't making a comeback. Yes, a skin for them is found in the game files, but for all these years we never got a hint or mention that they'll exist in the game.

I don't think we should pigeonhole the Nether into being a place specifically for potion ingredients. The Nether should really be given unique biomes and features that make it an exotic environment that can stand on its own, somewhere they player could live and thrive in. Just leaving it as a wasteland with some ingredients would be a squandered opportunity. Villages would be a good step towards that. The pigmen could trade you exclusive goods (which villagers should do anyway, so better exclusive nethery goods). Nowhere in the OP was it said it would be a shameless clone. I don't really see anything showing how the villages would be laid out or what their buildings/shelters would be like.
This would be great idea because the nether sucks all u do there is mine for nether quarts but thats all seriously we need something to do in the nether so thats why we have this ok.

...I'm sorry. Am I supposed to take your post seriously? Lemon's thoughts are well-constructed and organized. Follow his example if you wish to address me again, please. "It sucks and needs to be better so this idea is great kthnx" is not a valid contribution of thought.
@Lemon (I'mma call you that): True, the OP says nothing of design or layout...Which means the logical conclusion is that it will be cloned from overworld villages. After all, if they had a different design in mind, wouldn't they have detailed it? But I digress. Even granting that villages could work (I still don't like pigmen though, and people need to quit clinging to those unused game files and try being original), trading of "Nethery goods" still sounds iffy. The Nether is a dangerous place in which resources must be obtained through a fair amount of risk. Adding in trades for them seems much too cheap.
If villages were added to the Nether, I'd still rather they be challenges for the player rather than trading locales. Have them under semi-regular seige by the zombies or something, have the player have to work and fight to defend them...Something like that fabled Zombie Seige mode that got downgraded to the mere seiges seen in-game. And rather than "Nethery goods", maybe the villagers grant temporary enchantments in exchange for [insert currency here - I'm thinking Nether Quartz] (permanent enchants still require EXP and the enchant table). It just suits the place more to earn your own resources.
As for biomes, that's a very difficult subject given the environment...Though I have ideas on that topic.

Why do they "need love"? Why do they have to exist? The game will not crumble without them.

I'd assume they'd trade different things. Maybe even some special things you can't get elsewhere...
