I'm sorry for the name. These are just really cool and interesting weapons, plus I'm listening to Battle of Kings right now, which is epic music. Anyway, on with the ideas! Oh ya, this is not a wishlist. It just seems pointless to make like, 5 different posts for different weapons. And I know some of these have been already suggested, but these are my own take on them. But if any are exactly like these, then I'm sorry and you get some credit.
Knife/Throwing Knife This would be crafted by putting a stick on the bottom middle, then putting an iron ingot in the middle. You can stab with them by left clicking. This takes away 6 health (3 hearts). You can also throw it. When you do, it can go 20 to 30 blocks. You can pick it up again. If you throw it, it will take 8 health (4 hearts). It will look like a sword, but shorter, no hilt, and the whole thing will look the same material.
Battle Axe You craft these by putting a stick in the middle column, then the top to rows are the material that you want to make it out of. The damage will be a little more powerful then a sword of the same material. It has the same durability. It looks like an axe, but double-sided, the handle looks like it is made of metal, and the blade covers more of the surface.
Club/Mace
You make this by putting any material in the middle column, then the full top row also. This does a little less damage then a sword of same material, but it has a way higher knock-back, and the enemy is stunned for 2 seconds. It also has a higher durability. Wood and stone look like classic clubs, but iron, gold, and diamond look like maces.
It will look like this: http://dnd4.wikia.com/wiki/File:Mace_IMG_3823.jpg.
Crossbow You make this by putting wood in the middle column, and in the top row. Then you will put string in the middle row on the two sides. It is like a bow, but you don't hold it, it just fires the farthest by right clicking it. It is also a little more powerful then a bow. But to even this out, it either has a lower durability, or uses two arrows at once.

The combat in Minecraft is pretty lackluster as is, so adding a few new weapon sprites with slightly altered stats won't accomplish too much. What's with the the thread title..? There's a chance this is gonna be a locked thread because... you know, crossbows, maces and battleaxes have been mentioned to death.
