ok I used the search thingy and no rings or amulets topics appeared so I'm assuming it has not been suggested or its under another name.
my suggestion is simple, we all know that gold is a pretty nice ore it has some uses but mostly they are for luxury items (clocks, power rails, golden apples...etc), and unlike iron and diamonds or even stone making gold tools is an exercise in insanity and wastefulness, I mean if u make gold pick axes u are either insane or new to the game (i made one in beta days thinking gold was better than iron...I was wrong)
anyways what i suggest is that we get 3 more wearable slots 2 for rings and 1 for an amulet
this items are made from gold and one type of gem (diamonds, lapis, emeralds) but that's not all, these items have uses:
they can be enchanted BUT the enchantments are nothing like the ones u normally find on ur everyday MC items and armor, the enchantments are .... ACTIVE, which means they give the ring or amulet a "spell" with limited charges that can only be recharged via anvil, lets do examples:
the item list:
1- Diamond ring, made from 3 gold ingots and one diamond arranged in a circle shape (well like compass but with diamond on top in the crafting grid)
2- Lapis ring, same but with lapis stone
3-Emerald ring, same but with emerald gem
4-Diamond amulet, made from five gold ingots and one diamond the ingots are arranged like a helmet BUT with gem on the bottom middle grid
5-Lapis amulet, same but with lapis stone
6-Emerald amulet, same with emerald gem
unenchanted these items are nothing more than decoration items, but when u enchant them they gain a special power a "spell" of sorts that can be used in your most dire times, once the item is enchant u can DRAG its icon (u do this by pressing on it with right mouse button and keep it pressed) to you inventory just like any other item so that u can use it, the original item, be it a ring or amulet, remains where it is and should u like to remove it u simply click once on it like armor and u grab it instead of "dragging" a copy of the icon to ur inventory
spell list:
1-light: u place an ember like object on the top or side of a block this gives light like a torch and lasts 10 minutes
2-water breathing, I ,II ,III: you can breath underwater for 3, 5, 8 minutes (depending on enchantment type)
3-Ender blink: you throw an orb like object (like an ender pearl) and u will be teleported to where it hits, unlike the ender pearl it will cause u no damage.
4-Fire charge, I, II, III: you shot a fire ball that explodes and sets targets on fire, friendly fire possible use with care, radius and damage depends on level of the spell
5-Ice Bolt, I, II, III: you shot an ice bolt that freezes water/mobs and puts out fires it works in the nether nut the effects are greatly diminished and it can be used to put yourself out should u catch fire just aim at the ground.
6-Arrow Shell: creates a magic ender shell around the player than can block 3 arrows (teleports them to the end :P) and then it fades it only lasts 30 seconds, warning this spell turns all ender men in a 40 block radius hostile, use with care.
7-Lesser fire protection, I, II, III: makes player immune to fire damage for 10, 20, 30 seconds depending on spell level.
8-Lightning bolt, I, II, III: shots a lighting bolt that does damage depending on spell level, warning this spell cause creepers to go nuke AND all other mobs WILL NOT give out loot should they die from it, also it will turn pigs into hostile pigmen.
9-Lesser invisibility, I, II, III: you become invisible for a 10, 20, 30 seconds.
10-Levitaion, I, II, III: you can fly for 10, 20, 30 seconds.
11-Blast Shell: creates an ender blast shield around the player that absorbs the effects of one explosion, warning blast can still knock player back, lasts only 30 seconds
12- Slow fall: the player falls like a feather for 15 seconds.
The number of charges depends on the type of stone/gem used usually lapis gives 10 charges, while emeralds give 20, and diamonds give 30.
The only way to recharge the item is to use a diamond/emerald/lapis (depending on original jewel) on an anvil to recharge or the item will lose its enchantment should it reach 0.
Also lapis can't hold level 2 or 3 enchantments (enchantments like levitation are considered level 3) while emeralds can only hold level 1 and 2 (slow fall is a level 2 enchantment for example), and diamonds can hold all.
if you think anything is overpowered or underpowered let me know in the comments hope u like this idea
I like the concept of rings and amulets, and I like some of the spells, provided they get tweaked down the road. But a vast majority of the spells I wouldn't want to have. the ones I liked were Water Breathing, Light (provided it can place these lights underwater too), and Slow Fall.
its has dragons, enchanting, alchemy, zombies, skeletons, all classic RPG staples
False. Those are just common ideas that RPGs use. You can find all of those in tons of other games. RPGs require character progression that lasts, either in the form of increasing stats and unlocking skills in a permanent way, or through the story. Minecraft does neither of those. But that is just a nitpicking disagreement.

I haven't seen you post anything but that, except on something extremely vague.
