This idea is about Water Plumbing. This idea is thought originally by me (although some others may have posted this in the past). Please do not post any rude comments (i.e. This is retarded, etc). This idea has many flaws and I would like to hear about them.
This idea is about indoor water plumbing in Minecraft. Imagine, going to your bathroom in your house, and hitting a button and water from the lake 200 blocks away appear in your bathroom sink. This is exactly what water plumbing would do! If water plumbing were to be implemented in the game, it would input the water pipe. The same sort of pipes in buildcraft (slightly different). I can already tell that many of you are going to say "But you could just put a dispenser with water buckets in it". To counteract this, the 'plumbing pipes' would be way cheaper to make. The crafting recipe would work like this.
(x)=emptyness
(s)=stone
(s) (x) (s)
(s) (x) (s)
(s) (x) (s)
This would also allow you move water throughout your entire house through one water source. When you were to use water, the water from the source would be slightly drained (In the same fashion as collecting water with the water bucket). This could also be used to transport water throughout a number of houses, with just one water source. A good example would be if you were in a large town, but you didn't want to fill each house with dispensers and water buckets, you could just put pipes underground going into each house. Considering how cheap these are would also be an advantage. These would also make the game seem more real. In real life we have plumbing, not dispensers with water. Not only could you hook up the pipes to a large lake, but to make it more realistic you could hook it up to a large water tower. If some people have made these on a server, than they could have a purpose. This would save a significant amount of iron, string, and wood. If this were to be added, the classic water bucket and dispenser features wouldn't be unimplemented. So with this were to be added to the game you would be given a choice, between two.
This isn't criticism, but a legit question. What would be a point of this? I mean it's a good looking idea but why would you go through all of this trouble to hook pipes to a lake when you can already do this much easier as you have stated. If you could explain, then I would probably support.

sorry; I use, way too much, 'punctuation', it's a habit...
But the idea is flawed in one way as it imposes issues. The ability to drain bodies of water proves insanely CPU tasking.
However if just using regular replenishing water sources then I see no point in such idea.
