After a little while, vanilla kinda gets boring, so why not add quests to keep people occupied!
Villagers would be the person you get quests from!
I hope Mojang considers this.
. . . in the mean time. . . beef party!
Find a mushroom island.
Find a desert/jungle temple.
Strive to reach a stack of diamond blocks.
Basically just turn your goals in your world into quests of sorts - play fitting music.
I currently built 4 obsidian machines since I'm making a platform and small bunker to fight the wither at, and it's taking a long time, but I know it'll be worth the time invested.
anyways, as your topic stands - no support, elaborate more.
I'm sorry but this is a horrible idea. Minecraft is placed in the sandbox genre of games. If you add quests this will be gone. In all honesty it sounds like an ok idea, in the sense of maybe having to kill 12 creepers, for 2 steaks or something. But even that has its flaws. Stuff like this can already be created through mcedit, command blocks, etc. Also there are mods for this. No support!

Quests are, I'm sure very suggested, so you should look for older suggestions and reply on those instead.
