I would like to suggest new NPCs to Minecraft. NPCs like mercenaries, hunters, etc. that would make Minecraft more fantasy like or something like that. To me, it would make it easy and fun to travel the world of Minecraft and see NPCs around the world and such. What do you guys think? What type of NPC do you want?
Eh. I think the game is better off with that secluded, lonely "not many other humans out there" vibe. And we do have villagers and witches as our "normal humans" already, with other mobs being humanoid, but not human like the player.

Hey, you there. Yes, you! Are you thinking about posting a suggestion on the forums anytime soon? If so, please read this before doing so.

I dunno, a random hunter might help with that feeling. Especially if it's rare for you to find one.
Like, you two are the only people for hundreds of miles.

Making something rare doesn't automatically balance something out. Rarity is also a common cop out people use so they don't have to make the effort to rework other things. Not that I'm accusing anyone in this thread of doing that, but it happens.
But yeah, the game having players be "mostly secluded" has worked painfully well for years, so adding these NPC's like hunters, bandits, knights or whatever would just water it down and start to make it generic like many RPG games out there.

I don't really mind; I think that they would be toggled with the World Generation option: "Generate Structures"
If you don't want them, you don't want the others, some people may think.
It doesn't work that way. There's no reason to combine the ability to have specific NPC's that rely on the "Generate Structures" option. If something is balanced enough, there's no need for that optional stuff.
I want to have tribes of living pigmen in the overworld, but to me, we players are the mercenaries, traders, etc. However though, my idea is that mercs and traders would be like this:
- Villagers would ride on mules through the overworld in day time.
- Pigmen would be recruitable as mercenaries who follow you, fight MOBs with you and let you give them weapons and armour.
I think NPCs that are actually heavily specific and specialized characters would completely ruin the feel of the game. I would be fine with mobs that are more like villagers, that aren't specifically stealing your stuff, or doing anything really specific.
Better AI, more Interactivity and more Variants. Cause they are NPCs duhhh. And it would be logically to add alot more to have more exploration and sense to find a village or seek out NPCs in different locations!
