Do we really need this? It's incredibley redundant, and silly. I mean, keeping items in your mouth? We might as well be able to balance items on our heads and on our shoulders and stick items down our pants.

Well, give me one more use for an item on your head, and I'll consider it. And you can't say helmet, because that's already a thing.
My main point with the suggestion was to be able to eat while browsing inventory. But then I had to figure out how to implement it in the simplest way, and an inventory slot seemed simple, intuitive. The inventory slot comes with a nice side bonus of being able to store things in it, but since that would be OP, we can balance it by having things get dropped as soon as the player stops browsing his or her inventory.
As for items down our pants, I kind of always assumed that's where most of the existing inventory already was.

I think you are going to love my Survival Let's Play series on YouTube! It's called Spaceboot1's Garden. I make pretty things.
Really? I don't think that you should be able to go to your inventory and put in a stack of 64 food items and it automatically fills your hunger bar up. And if it is in the same place as armor, new players might think that there is mouth armor, and spend a while trying to craft it.

"And so I go fast. Not because I want to, because no one else will."
Yes I do. The way I intended this suggestion anyways, is you don't swallow all 64. You put them in your mouth only temporarily, as you sort through the rest of your inventory. It's like a bonus slot.
Alright, I know I complimented you on this idea, but yeah... Back to the negatives. You actually have more people catching onto you. There are also some people who may not let on that they know this is a joke, and will just say "no support" because they don't feel like typing more.
For example, when you kill another player, you end up standing on top of their pile of loot, trying to sort through it by tossing things to the side and whatnot. Well, now you can hold one more stack in your mouth. Once you try to move though, and exit your inventory, you spit out the items.
There it is again. "I'm gonna bring up well-detailed arguments and scenarios for such a petty and useless idea!" Kind of like in your other thread. "Yeah, you have to take off your armor to go to sleep and it's annoying but hey it immerses you in the game!!!" No.
And anyways, if somehow Stevie can carry 64 loafs of bread in one hand, I don't see how putting them in his mouth should be so difficult.
I just... Amazing. Purely amazing. You're like a guy dressed as a clown walking down the sidewalk, and you're shouting "stop looking at me!" whenever someone notices your strange attire. You're comparing holding bread in your hand to in your mouth. Well gee, what could the difference be there..? I'm sure Mojang just love to place a "mouth" slot next to the armor ones right away!
This has to be the most IDIOTIC, MORONIC, and DUMB idea ever! I'm sorry but what do you think that this game is? Did you even think before posting this. I'm trying to be nice, but this is such a dumb topic. Please think before you post. NO SUPPORT!

Despite how everyone else thinks this is a ridiculous idea, I think it's rather creative and funny but in a helpful way. I tend to hold things in my mouth too if I'm already carrying a lot of things. The only thing I don't like is the mouth slot. It looks awkward and out of place. I think the items should just go in the head slot, because it does show a face and not just the top of a head for the slot. Either that or have the mouth slot somewhere that isn't close to the armor slots like in the top right above the crafting. And when something is in the slot it should show the item in the person's mouth in the inventory. Other than that you have my support.
I often used to hold blocks of LEGO in my mouth that I didn't want to let go off, while I assembled something else with my hands. Well, considering that minecraft building is basically virtual LEGO...
I don't like the idea of auto-eating, but I love the idea of temporary storage.
Interesting and weird. Support.
However, I've never had a situation where I've needed to eat something while sorting out my inventory.
I think people aren't interpreting this idea the right way. It's not meant to be a way to actually hold things in your mouth, it's meant to be a way to eat things while you're in your inventory. What'd probably be better would be just a single isolated slot with a porkchop outline on it, or something, to signify that the food goes there. It shouldn't be part of the armour slots.
Okay people, get realistic here. I have two hands, My hands are full, I temporarily place something in my mouth, like when I am putting something to gather, I put the glue bottle in my mouth while my hands are busy, then use one hand to hold it to gather, then use my other and to grab the glue bottle out of my mouth, and use it.
And there should also be an armpit inventory slot, just in case.
I laughed hard at that, too.Anyway, this is an odd idea. I don't like the idea of going through my inventory and putting gravel or sand in my mouth like I am looking for, lets say, I dunno. A Stick. Then I find the stick and put it in my mouth. It's just kind of odd for steve to put something in his mouth. Also, not to mention, this whole topic is a complete "Thats what She said" moment.
I would love it if you checked out my "about me" page on my profile and looked at my threads I'm always happy to see new posters.

Okay, I have to admit. That was pretty funny.
