So, I'll pitch my idea:
We have paintings, signs and item frames to hang as decoration. However, what if there was the ability to draw your own sketch?
Take an item frame, put paper in it, use a feather on that, with possibly squid ink, and draw your own 16x16 (or 32x32, or higher...) sketch, which is saved in a similar way to books or maps.
Or, scratching that complicated method...make a new item for it...e.g, poster?
There are aesthetic and practical uses for this in game. The aesthetic ones should be obvious enough, what with having your own paintings and pictures and such, but I can also explain at least one practical use.
Say you are on a server, with some friends, and you want to work together to build a structure. Have that structure drawn onto these posters so you can accurately share your idea of how it should be built. OR draw a custom map, with details that regular maps are going to miss, e.g. labelling tunnels on your crude castle diagram.
I personally see no issues with this idea being implemented, but I know people are going to find some. So, go ahead.
If you actually DO like this, though, please support!
"Colder than the snow that blankets the earth" "Colder than the ice that cover the stones and freezes the rivers" "Colder than the north wind blowing through a winter-bound forest" "Colder than all these is the smile of a Shade of the Dark"
The only problem I see with this is players in servers can draw inappropriate images.
And they can say naughty things on chat, and build some ghastly things in giant size. Although, your point is reasonable.
However, this issue can be solved the same way as other issues...ban.
Interesting...
Turns out a sketch can be made with the map function...
But it would be nice to be able to draw something ingame, as this method needs outside work.
Love this idea. I've wanted this since paper was released as an item lol. It'd also be cool if you could draw on signs, make picture and text books with the ability to put them onto shelves as to make a book libary where you or others can pick them up and look at them.
