Hello everyone. Many times in game when I killed many zombie pigmen or normal zombies over-world I had a bunch of golden swords and armors so they were mostly useless because of low durability.
So I thought of something that:
If we could smelt those useless gear and give back some materials it would be nice. (only for golden ones)
my suggestion is if we put these items into furnace we can get these material:
Golden sword ------> 6 gold nuggets
Golden armor ------> 24 gold nuggets
Golden boots ------> 8 gold nuggets
Golden helmet -----> 12 gold nuggets
Golden pants ------> 16 gold nuggets
What do you think?
UPDATE:
Everybody can already farm them for nuggets. Gold is already a renewable resource, and nobody noticed that I used nuggets.
But about wearing out a sword or armor and again melt them to nuggets: This is not a good idea because for example for a sword, you hit and kill 2 or 3 mobs and your sword worn off and you return and wait smelt it to 6 nuggets and you should do it 3 times to get a new golden sword and it is annoying so nobody will go for that except if he likes to be annoyed
I don't think this is a good idea because getting gold would be way too easy. Just 1 zombie pigmen farm and you would have infinite amount of gold + you could automate it to have even more gold
If all of them drop golden sword
but it is kind of rare
You're mentioning one of the most oversuggested things ever. A form of reverse crafting. Also, you're using one of the most overused statements ever. "It's rare." It being rare doesn't automatically balance the idea out.

Hey, you there. Yes, you! Are you thinking about posting a suggestion on the forums anytime soon? If so, please read this before doing so.

I suggested this only for golden items because when some mob drop a golden armor or sword that is almost useless so why they drop golden items? I don't know, but this can help make use of them.

This is pretty much an opinion-based suggestion. Because you don't find use in gold stuff, you're assuming the rest of the planet doesn't either. I don't use gold stuff that much, but you can still come across a gold armor piece that has a very good enchantment and could be very useful for a while.

Yes, I didn't mean that it has no use. Every body still can use that armor. It depends on player's playing style.
As I know most of players never use gold ingots to make golden tools or armor, but if someone finds an enchanted one so it worth using it.

Argument: The armor is going to last much, much, much shorter than an iron set, which is a helluva lot more common,
The sword is enough to kill 6 creepers, compared to 12 for a wooden sword.
And mining fast is good, but mining 33 blocks fast is not good. Gold is only good for non-tool non-armor uses.
Please explain how gold is useful as those types.

Love to. I like how Reza-miner gave you reputation for that post, as if to say "Yeah! That's right! You tell him!"
At least gold tools have the highest enchantability over all the other materials, and can still wring out some use before they quickly break. They might be useful to spare some durability of another pickaxe you're gonna use once the gold one breaks. You also might find a gold piece of armor with a very powerful enchantment on it that can be briefly used to minimize damage from something specific. There's too many variables to list them all.
I don't use gold tools myself, and I do agree how useless they can be, but turning them into gold nuggets is too much hand-holding. You can already keep getting them from Zombie Pigmen.
As I know most of players never use gold ingots to make golden tools or armor, but if someone finds an enchanted one so it worth using it.
No no no. This isn't how you support your points. Don't use statements like "I don't know anyone who uses this so..." Just no. I also think gold tools and armor aren't worth the time, but turning them into gold nuggets is a big negatory. You can already grind zombie pigmen for that.
I have piles of gold loot bc I hunt a lot. Some of them have amazing enchantments on them too but they're useless except to show off, which is what I do. I literally have a trophy chest of armor and sword drops since they seem the rarest.
I see a lot of complaining on this post but I think this could be a good idea. You aren't getting a ton of stuff from the smelting. Notice he's talking about nuggets guys, most of those give you less than 1 ingot equivalent in return. That being said, I totally think this could be a balanced idea, if you factored in durability. The problem with reverse crafting is you can almost wear out an item and then get the loot back. If the nugget return was based on some maximum (lower than the crafting cost) which varied to almost zero as the armor wore out this would be completely balanced. Or, as he's trying to do, you can assume most of the gold armor is pretty damaged anyway and just give a low return.
translation of his table:
Golden sword ------> 6 gold nuggets = 2/3 ingot
Golden armor ------> 24 gold nuggets = 2 2/3 ingot
Golden boots ------> 8 gold nuggets = 8/9 ingot
Golden helmet -----> 12 gold nuggets = 1 1/3 ingot
Golden pants ------> 16 gold nuggets = 1 2/3 ingot
It would not over-power gold farms either as the gold drops are very rare drops. You can already automate a much more productive zombie pigman farm and just collect their nuggets. The sword drops, from my experience, are more like 1 in 15-20 kills unless you have a looting sword, and you can't automate looting sword kills. Plus, and I'm not for sure about this, I don't think you can get loot like armor if the mob dies of natural causes anyway.

Curse PremiumI suggested this only for golden items because when some mob drop a golden armor or sword that is almost useless so why they drop golden items? I don't know, but this can help make use of them.
It makes you more happy when you kill a mob and it drops a golden item, but now you can not do anything with it just to store them in a chest!
