A processor block. Similar to a furnace in some ways but also very different. With the addition of hoppers, items can be moved around easily but it is still up to the player to create them. The processor could kind of help with this.
Here's an example:
I want to make golden apples, this Requires 8 golden nuggets and 1 apple for each golden apple I want to make. If this processor block has two hoppers as inputs (because there are 2 "ingredients") from behind, above or to the sides, giving a total potential to make something with 4 ingredients and 1 output hopper leading outward towards a chest or dispenser or some other complex contraption.
Now, you right click the processor and store a pre-existing golden apple you have made within it. Once you have done that whenever the correct amount of ingredients are inside the slots of the processor, a golden apple will automatically appear in the output which can be carried off by a hopper.
What do you guys think? I think it's a good idea but maybe it could use a different name or a tweak.
So an auto crafting block correct? I like these kinds of ideas but I would rather there be a cost to operate them (fuel, stuff like that).
Dinnerbone has gotten asked many times if he would add something like this and he has refused all of them on accounts of 'too much automation'. I somewhat agree with him.

Hey, if you want to make sure I saw what you said, quote me on it.
You are correct. basically an auto crafter. I think this could be cool seeing as there is the cost of putting one of the items in and leaving it there or maybe the processor would never be 100% efficient, requiring 9-12 nuggets and 1-2 apples, meaning it is easier but more costly.

Ehh, I wouldn't really like items being wasted. Either requiring fuel, being expensive to make, or taking a long time to process are the things I would look for.
Also, if you forgot something in a post, just edit it in the first one.
