I've searched whether this has been suggested and didn't find anything.
I remember how I entered the world of MineCraft for the first time. I was confused! I didn't know what to do and in an hour or so I found miself serfing forums and wikis for tips.
It's not good. And I think I have an idea how to fix it.
I suggest mojang implement a new type of generating structures, The hut:
The appearance of the hut doesn't really matter. The hut should be randomly generated once for each biome. Inside the hut there should be only a chest:
The loot from this chest shold be equal to that of the Bonus Chest, but with several additional items that should be in handy at the very beginning:
Among them you can see written book. This is a book containing some useful tips for beginners, like:
That's actually it=) Thanks for reading this! Support it if you like it, and suggest your own tips, i'll create a list of your suggestions.
Don't hesitate to comment, it is a small change to the game, but may considerably improve the game
That would be completely impractical. How often do these occur anyways? These tips should not be a permanent part of a world, but as a tutorial like in the XBOX 360 Edition. It would also consist of free materials and information, that would make minecraft too easy.

The future of Minecraft in Microsoft's hands.

Wow, a free shelter, food, bricks and resources! Overpowered, perhaps you can randomly obtain bits of 'paper' like in Junk Jack which give you tips? You could craft a tips book?
I'd think that a tutorial like in the Xbox version would be easier and better for new players, started with a small button in the corner of world creation or something, that would be pointed out the first time Minecraft is launched with a new account.

I hate people who complain. I hate spiders. I hate people who own an Xbox One. I hate people who like sandbox games. I hate people who like first person shooters. I hate people who like explosions. I hate people who like video games. I hate people who are hateful. I hate people that don't like spam. I hate people who like cake. I hate people who type in proper grammar and spell words properly on the internet. I hate hypocrites.
MineCraft broke the rules of all big blockbuster games when it didn't add tutorials, it was part of made it so successful. The community found out what to do themselves and there are tons of YouTube tutorials that you can watch if you are really that lost. It is a very simple game, don't add tutorials, it's perfect the way it is.
I think this should just be a world gen option, and with less stuff in the hut.
Or maybe just an option for the player to spawn with the actual guide book?
I actually think that the achievements part of the game was enough to guide me through my first play of Minecraft. It's perfect! It doesn't spell everything out for you, but it does direct you to punch a tree at first, then make a crafting table, then grow crops. It's just enough, in my opinion.
