This is, by far, the best suggestion I've read all day.
I couldn't agree more with the idea of revamping dungeons. I think they need to become much more dangerous, and need to be filled with traps. Your dungeons look very well-executed, and seem like they'd pose as both a challenge in-game, and an exciting place to explore. Not only are the dungeons you made much bigger, but they include several traps, much to my liking. I think making dungeons deadly is a wonderful idea, even if it's only in a mod.
This is one of the VERY few times I'm going to say that, yes, I do think this should be in vanilla minecraft. Excellent work on developing the idea, presenting it clearly, and proving to me that dungeons need a complete remake.
I fully support.
Thank you very much. Feel free to try out the demo map if you want, to see what they would be like in vanilla (well, kind of, the demo dungeon is extremely large for a vanilla dungeon), I would love some feedback on it.
They all look awesome. I think nothing would suit vanilla minecraft better than a dungeon overhaul, exactly like this. I love all three dungeons you made, but my favorite one has to be the large one, v 1.0 - it was so much fun to explore. I usually find traps, but yours were pretty undetectable. I loved the prison cells, and how the staircases made the dungeons more than one floor. The multiple chests/traps are excellent, very well done. Silverfish are simply the icing on the cake - this dungeon blew away all of my expectations!

Ah, well then I'm very glad you like the idea so much, even after trying the maps. I agree that 1.0 is a slightly more enjoyable than 1.1, but I had to make some changes. The spawners were too close together, there was too much loot (I had to leave the dungeon just to stash it all away), and mobs kept triggering the arrow traps. I may try fiddling around with it sometime soon.
I think they should also a custom mobs for different dungeons
Welcome to the forums!
An intriguing idea, but what do you mean by custom mobs? New mobs that can only be found in dungeons, or a mob we currently have (i.e. a zombie or skeleton) with different stats?
