All right, there are people who think Minecraft is becoming too difficult, and people who think its a piece of cake.
I agree with those who think it's getting harder than it should. I also agree that the game is easy. Strange, huh? I don't get it either.
Anyway, here's the deal: Many of Minecraft's mobs are not terribly challenging to kill, and that's fine. We don't need them to be harder, we need them to be more fun. For instance:
Zombies spawning more zombies is fine, as long as their damage (or some other factor) is reduced to make them not too much harder than they are now.
Skeletons' fire-rate increase is fine, as long as they're nerfed for balance - what Badprenup suggested, or give their bows drawback time and make it so they have to be looking at you instead of launching arrows with their mind at anything that moves.
Creepers' explosion countdown timer should vary with difficulty, giving you more time to react on easier difficulties.
Endermen should be easier to enrage on harder difficulties.
Wither skeletons and angry zombie pigmen should walk slower than you on Easy.
Ghasts' flying speed, as well as blaze and ghast fire rate, should vary slightly with difficulty.

This signature is currently under construction. We apologize for the inconvenience, and are doing our best to resume our normally scheduled wittiness and derision of copypasta signatures.
The skeletons are somewhat overpowered since you can't even get to them if they are in the water and you don't have a bow, but later they're of negligible danger. The zombie thing is going to need a lot of work, because it's currently just stupid If you have enough zombies burning in the day they will become self sustaining..
Oh one thing that I should add to my tweaks for mob stats I mentioned before. I also think Skeleton fire speed should affect their damage. The closer you are to a Skeleton, the faster it fires, but the less damage and knockback it does. Thus fixing the problem where they are harder to kill in water, or at least lessening it.

The problem is some mob buff makes easy difficulty harder, and cannot be disabled without mods or version downgrade.
all mob buffs should be configurable. or at least, auto-disabled in easy difficulty.
all the buffs are fine, except the zombie spawning which is BS in any diffuculty.
I disagree. I don't have any problem with them spawning more Zombies. If it was a challenging mob I would agree but Zombies are still very easy to deal with.
But seeing how just disagreeing solves nothing and each time a Zombie is hit it triggers a chance that it spawns another Zombie, what if the chance was based on the damage the hit did to them? So newer players with weaker weapons (thus taking more hits to kill Zombies and giving them more chances to spawn additional ones) would have a lower chance of making more spawn but if you had a good weapon and did more damage you had a higher chance. That way it scales up as you progress through the game.
