I've seen the horse carriage idea show up a lot. This is not a suggestion for that but rather one to go with it. What would minecraft be like with a new kind of "village"? I propose nomadic villagers. They would be found in plains, maybe desert, and possibly even taiga. They would have the same, or a slightly different, appearance as the villagers do now. They would travel from place to place (maybe something like 5 specific locations per group) daily/weekly. At every location they would have a slightly different, but very basic, housing structure. I feel this sort of civilization being added to minecraft would make it seem a little more lifelike. I mean, after a while I always feel like nothing is changing in my MC worlds and I feel like this would help make it feel a bit more dynamic.
Housing would be very basic. Small, simple, mostly or entirely empty, wooden structures usually with grass/dirt floors. Only about 3x3 on the inside. Houses would only be 2/3 blocks away and no more than 3-6 of these small buildings. maybe a small 2x2 or 3x3 animal pen (pigs, cows, or chickens) could show up in the occasional village (rather than farmland like in stationary villages). With the addition of horses there would be a fence to tie them up.
Trading could be slightly different too. Perhaps the basic monetary unit could be a gold ingot/nugget as opposed to an emerald.
And how would they work, exactly? What if their chunks aren't currently loaded? Would they just pause? Would they force-load chunks, causing lag issues?
The basic idea has been mentioned before, and it just never really seems feasible. Either the mobs aren't doing what the idea suggests they do, or they force load chunks, which can lead to performance issues.
as far as villagers on unloaded chunks I would say they should be paused. I mean if the chunk isn't loaded, the villagers being stationary wouldn't really effect the game.
For appearances, I'd say the nomads would look largely the same and regular villagers. Perhaps different community positions could exist (i.e. Mayor [Yellow long-sleeve shirt], rancher [red t-shirt], carpenter [black long-sleeve shirt]). I would suggest that the average villager would wear basic clothes. Nomads could carry walking sticks as they would be doing a lot of traveling on foot.
If this is implemented I think that their should be sorta placeable structures that the villagers will take down and place, like tents, and maybe a plow should be implemented, the villagers should be able to ride donkeys/mules and use them to plow land and a new fast growing crop (radishes?) and at the end they would be able to tear down their villages and move on. But anyways, /support

I don't really care if you click the green arrow, but if it makes you feel like you make me feel good...
I like this. Maybe they could use tents made out of wool as buildings, unless your talking about semi-permanent villages. In that case, the current structures will do. Support.

It is possible in the herobrine mod, why not here? They could ride donkeys/mules with chests on their backs that contain some wood, cobble, and some sand. They would most likely travel on desert, plains, forests, and snow plains (forgot the name). They could be a group of four - six nomads traveling. They then stop, make an unpleasing house (emptying their blocks from the chests) and any extras could make it too permenant.

The future of Minecraft in Microsoft's hands.

Maybe a pioneer wagon. BTW the biome your thinking of is taiga.
(I think it would be cooler to have a fold up tent village but whatever.)
What about zombies though? Should they move whenever there is a zombie siege? Or should they stay for a certain amount of time and just have a minor defense system
Once my programming class is over, I'll try to make a mod for this (with your permission of course.)

I like the ideas of wool houses or tents being implemented. I'm all for carriages. I'd say these nomads wouldn't move based on external events but rather, every 2/3 days. (or after a specific number of ticks).

What do you think?

These are all just rough ideas.
