Okay, some of you may be thinking "Chickens can't fly, why should they be able to?
Well, it is the truth. They can fly, and I saw one fly.
I was at Port Vila, Vanuatu on a cruise, and was doing a tour of a turtle sanctuary. There was a Dog, Patch, who was a German shepherd. A chicken came out of nowhere. Patch noticed it, and started chasing it. The chicken dashed to cover, sometimes flying up. Eventually, the chicken went up to the beach, where it started flying 2m above the ground. The chicken escaped, without a couple feathers.
The reason chickens don't fly is because they have their wings cut. So here's what im thinking:
Chickens will still walk on the ground as usual, and float.
Once attacked, it will start to rise up and fly around quickly for a couple seconds. If it goes over a hill, it will start floating down until it is 2 blocks above the ground.
What about farming?
I mentioned that chickens in farms have their wings cut. So to cut their wings, use shears on them. They will no longer be able to float above ground, but they still fall slowly.
When chickens have their wings cut, they have shorter wings. The idea of feathers dropping from chickens is a benefit to earning feathers, as you can go around the wild, clipping a chickens wings, and then killing it, getting more feathers.
For ocelot hunting, field of view is a good idea, since ocelots and other feline species are silent and stealthy. Ocelots have the benefit of hiding in bushes. Ocelots are better hunters and should be able to instant kill chickens with their claws.
Hopefully this suggestion goes well, like my others, and gets implemented. This makes chickens a bit more realistic.

Do you like red panda's? They are so cute! Message me if you like the Red Panda!
Nice! a good thing, would be like if you shear them they will drop 1-2 feathers, but they wont regrow them normally, maiby you have to give them something to regrow them, so you can farm feathers without killing your only chicken, or, when you shear them for first time the feathers will grow back but they wont fly again.
Very usefull, balanced.. support
I like it, but this breaks occelot hunting. Suggestion: Make occelots kill chickens in one hit, but chickens start to fly away if they see an occelot (giving the chicken a field of vision.)
I also like the idea of clipping their wings, though you should be able to see whether or not they have been clipped.

Great idea. For the wing clip, they have shorter wings. The idea of feathers dropping from chickens is a benefit to earning feathers, as you can go around the wild, clipping a chickens wings, and then killing it, getting more feathers.

Not according to search. They suggested chickens could fly absolutely everywhere though. This is pretty much Chicken improvements but the core idea is the enhanced behaviour.
