Something I think Minecraft really needs is better combat because button mashing and running is pretty much all we do in PVP. A lot of time on servers and in real Minecraft has been using spawners to make grinders and spend hours punching at mobs legs to get Protection 4 armor.
With Tinkerer's Construct you using different kinds of metals, patterns, casts, and tool parts to make tools with different modifiers that add different abilities and upgrades. Like the rapier does low damage but there is no delay in between hitting a mob so you hit as fast as you click and you can still hit the mob even if their body is red. You use a smeltary and different tables to create the different parts and metals for your tools. It all sounds complicated but it has a system so that as you craft certain things you get books that tell you about what to do next. Ars Magica adds a spell system where you discover/create spells in different ways and it has mana and a spell books and stuff. You use xp to level up your character and you get more mana. So if you are level 20 to get to 21 you have to have 21 levels. Also, the higher your level is, the harder the mobs are that spawn around you. There's also a spell creation system where you can combine the different abilities of spells to do stuff. Again, read the thread or watch Dire's videos to learn more.
Smart moving adds new moving mechanics, plus a climbing system and better animations. You can also do little side hops, and cling onto the ledges of things before dropping down to lower the fall damage. Read the thread for more.

Wha really needs to be added is stealth and better movement, like climbing. It would be awesome to sneak around, climbing over walls in pvp and backstabbing other players, kinda like Assasin's Creed.
The idea of the suggestion is to change the name of minecraft into runescape.
Spells and levels are nah, because it is too annoying (fire spell, water spell, spam clicking and etc). It means that every new guy in a server will be owned by an old guy because he played more.
Smart moving is nice, and dodging can be lovely (woo! Dive roll!).
And making new parts and stuff like that is again nah, because it will add too many items (lol this is an awesome mod).
But, I support some more weapos like battleaxes/knives/maces, and some armor add-ons stuff, boots of speed or an awesome hat of invisibility.
Things like this frankly disappoint me. I don't need some hotshot taking credit for concepts I arrive at. That's why we have an entire suggestion forum.
Instead of suggesting the inclusion of mods as basis for inclusion of mods, try suggesting SUGGESTIONS where you lightly reference how a mod handled it and why you believe it would work in Minecraft.
Reason why I say this is not everyone has used mods, by that measure, not everyone has used the mods you use. So saying things like "add ars magicka" means nothing to me except that a mod with that name exists. However, since I likely haven't and will not use the mod; and I'm likely not alone, you have to explain your suggestions in detail.
Also, I'm not going to add ideas to your thread, please do your own work and post it instead of farming ideas from others.
