So, jeb is removing the horse saddle, and you are going to have to use the pig saddles found in dungeons for now on.
I was thinking that if they do implement the undead horses, they could drop their saddle as a rare drop so that people wouldn't have to find them in chests, just an idea, tell me what you think about it in the comments!

Not a great idea. I think we should be able to craft saddles before the are found in random drops like that.
Jeb apparently disagrees (see links above), and I agree with him. Right now Horses are WAY too easy to spawn and get saddles for. Removing the crafting recipe fixes that, but Saddles will likely be too rare, even with the increase of dungeon chests that he mentioned. Adding a 2-5% drop rate on this is a good idea.
I support this thread considering all the new changes to horses. With this, they wouldn't even need to up the chests in dungeons.

Where would we find these skeleton/undead horses anyways? If they're gonna be just as rare as the horse or rarer, it really defeats the purpose, doesn't it?

They are going to be rare spawns with Skeletons or Zombie Riders from what I have heard, kind of like the Spider Jockey. And it would be this plus finding them in Dungeons or Mineshafts, so it's just another way to find a semi-rare item.
