So, I know this is my first post, but I have a few ideas for a couple of Village updates that I'd like to see. If you have any feedback, I don't mind listening to criticism, but please don't just go "Your idea is stupid." That is not constructive in any manner.
Nether Village
Netherbrick Version
Incomplete Quartz version
Adding Villages to the nether, using Nether Brick, Nether Brick Stairs and Nether Brick fences to design the houses. You could use Soul Sand for the roads, and glowstone in place of the Wool and Torch lights used in the overworld. I had the idea that Zombie Pigmen could spawn here, or possibly Wither Skeletons. You could also add another type of mob that's peaceful, like Imps or something, I really don't know. They'ed basically act the same as Testificates, allowing you to trade while in the nether. You could also add empty wells, similar to the wells in the overworld, that have dried up. Or they could have Lava in them instead of water.
Anvils
Regular Plains Village
Adding Anvils to the Blacksmith Shop in Villages. It has probably been suggested a million times before, but since I'm putting down all of my suggestions in one, I figure it would do good to suggest it here. I know this would unbalance the game a bit, since Anvils are suppose to be made with so much iron, but maybe you could counter-balance it by adding damaged or even very damaged Anvils to the smith shop, instead of the regular undamaged ones?
Lighting Option
In a Village, black wool
The 'Rainbow' part 1
The 'Rainbow' part 2
The 'Rainbow' part 3
A basic idea I had for Lighting Options would be to simply change the wool colors, based on the Biome you're in. Like, a Desert Village would have yellow wool, a Jungle Village would have bright green wool, and so on. Another option I had was, instead of using fences, why not use Iron Bars for some? It would probably unbalance the game, I know, but the idea hit me to have some villages with Iron Bars instead of fence posts.
Basic Upgrades
Floor and Flower
Brick House Exterior
Brick House Interior
Brick House with Hardened Clay Exterior
Church Carpeting
A few suggestions I had that do not really fit into the other categories, that seem pretty simple to me.
-Removing Dirt Floors from Testificate houses. It shouldn't be hard to code wood flooring instead. Or stone flooring.
-Adding Carpet to the church floor. I know the carpets are new, I figured I'd just throw the suggestion out there now. It could be dark blue, or red. Those both look good with the cobblestone to me, but I'm sure other people have differing opinions.
-Adding flowerpots inside the houses. Like, one a house or something, with one of the roses, to 'brighten' up the place.
-Adding Abandoned Villages, with half-formed houses or houses filled with spiderwebs. You could even put Testificate Zombies inside of the houses(My friend added that bit). This would add a more 'real world' feel, but still keep the game play roughly the same. Or at least, that is what I believe.
-Adding Brick Houses in some Villages. It's a simple reskin, honestly. You could even have green Testificates congregate here.
-Pigmen. Just add them in as random Villagers, please. Replace the Farmers with them, or something. I'd like to see the skin actually in use, instead of just sitting there, staring at me, sadly.
Also, you might be able to streamline this suggestion thread and get some support (which I would appreciate, since I like suggestions regarding how to improve villages) if you remove the section on nether villages: there's a much more in-depth idea here, and I think that 0_Zippy would love your support on that.
However, I like some of these ideas in general. Maybe you should find a village in creative mode, make the changes you'd like to see implemented in vanilla minecraft, and then take some screenshots? It might draw more attention.
Most of the ideas are very good. There are a few that my personal preferences don't like, like nether villages and abandoned villages.
There are some good ideas for aesthetics though, like adding carpets, flower pots, and anvils. I'd love that stuff.

I'm mentioning this here, and I'm going to post it there too. I do like some of the aspects of his idea, but others I don't really care for. I'll get to adding the pictures later on, and thank you for the comments.

Oh, very cool. Sorry, I couldn't tell how different from his idea you wanted yours to be.

Well, his idea is very cool in its own right, but mine is more based around carrying over the Village concept from the Overworld to the Nether. They're both very interesting, and if his suggestion makes it in, I'll MORE than happily congratulate him.
I would be... unhappy if the alternative lighting option, wealthy villages (really anything to do with "wealth"), abandoned villages, and your nether villages were added to vanilla. The whole "wealth" thing is just, I don't know, not cool? Unoriginal? Demeaning? All of the above? I don't want to be too negative, though, and your aesthetic adjustments (flower pots, etc.) to villages have my full support. In fact, I think we could use a good minor/aesthetic adjustments to villagers and villages thread.

Well, what's wrong with the Alternative Lighting options? I'm more than willing to take constructive criticism. The 'wealth' thing was just me playing with ideas, and will probably be edited at some point in the future. Depends on how the Iron Bars look when I fiddle with them.
As for the Nether Villages and Abandoned Villages, what's the problem with them?
Ah yes, I forgot about the iron bars until you mentioned them. I have a problem with those, too, and that's that you can't jump over fences, but you can with iron bars. If you want to have double stacked iron bars, then fine, I guess, but I think that would be pretty ugly and silly looking.
For nether villages, my only problem is that they would be such a big change that you can't do them justice or adequately describe them in the paragraph you have there. With more detail, I could give you my firm support (or not). Anyway, I'm already somewhat opposed to nether villages because I don't think they really fit, so you would be fighting an uphill battle. I would get more opinions on them first anyway. The same goes for abandoned villages, but my main problem with those is that they have no purpose.
The lighting option section actually has quite a few parts, so I'll give you my take on each. On the different colored wool, I'm all for it, except that villages don't have any wool. There are also no "jungle villages". I already mentioned what I thought of the iron bars, so for the actual lighting, I don't like that because I strongly dislike the wealth system. My strong dislike may be irrational, so you may be able to talk me out of it.
Instead of making Pigmen spawn in Villages, make them spawn in the Nether Villages, Testificates is one thing, and Pigmen are another, but i support it!
Nether villages and anvils have already been suggested. Use the search engine.
Thank you for letting me know it's been mentioned before. I do appreciate the concern. However, this was less about any one particular idea, and more about a general 'upgrade' to Villages, the worlds over.
With that said, I have updated and added a few pictures, more will be coming as I find time to make them. If you'd like to add your take on one of my ideas, feel free to send me a PM, and I'll give you full credit, as well as your 'take' on the idea. I don't mind collaboration.

Please suggest one thing per topic.
Remove the "Non-village" suggestions and "Joke' suggestions and it wouldn't be considered a wishlist.
Thanks for pointing that out. I made the changes. I'll keep those other ideas around, for my next suggestion thread.

Overall it's good though. Support.
