40 Suggestions For Minecraft:
I am aware that some of the following things may have been suggested before. If so, I’m sorry. I didn’t know. Hopefully, you guys enjoy my 40 suggestions for Minecraft! J
1. Trapped Chests Spawn In Mineshafts: What if 25% of every chest in a Mineshaft was a trapped chest? Personally, I think it would be awesome. It would be hooked up to TNT and would add danger to caving. The chest would still have items in it, though it would be a risk to get them
2. Undead/Skeleton Horses Spawn Naturally (With Mobs Riding Them): Undead horses and skeleton horses are secret horses that can be found in the game’s coding. I think they should spawn naturally with mobs riding them (Undead horses would spawn with zombie riders. Skeleton horses would ride with skeleton riders). Skeleton horses would add agility to skeletons and undead horses would charge the player, doing the same damage as a zombie, plus some extra hearts of damage.
3. Slimes Suck Up Dropped Items: If the player died to a slime, I think it would be cool if the slime sucked up the items and you could see the items floating around inside the slime. The items would be distributed evenly to smaller slimes as the slimes die, and would come out of the baby slimes when they are killed.
4. Make Villager Houses More Like Home: The insides of village houses are kind of dull. What if they had carpets, crafting tables, beds and more lighting? It would make the houses feel a little more like home and be more welcoming.
5. Jungle Villages: Anybody that has seen Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (the newer one) knows that the Oompa-Loompas live in tree houses that have rope bridges leading from one house to another. What if those were added to jungles? It would make villagers cooler and I would be interested to see the villagers walking on high bridges to get around. Of course, with this suggestion, I must make a suggestion for rope bridges…
6. Rope Bridges: Yes, I know this one has been suggested before, but I kind of have to suggest it in order for suggestion #5 to work. They would be crafted the same as a boat, but instead of the top 2 wooden planks, it would use leashes/string/ropes (that I am pretty sure are being added in 1.6). They would make creaking sounds when you walk over them, making it sound like they are going to break, even though they won’t.
7. Seaweed: It would initially be an underwater version of tall grass, meaning it can be collected by shears. It would be slightly darker and could only be placed underwater. It would share the same space as water, instead of taking the place of water (like torches, ladders, etc.) It could also be used to possibly make sushi (which is suggestion #9).
8. Squid Tentacles: When a squid is killed, it could drop squid tentacles as well as the usual ink sac. The only use I can think for squid tentacles is using it for sushi (which I explain next).
9. Sushi: Using the combination of seaweed (suggestion #7), squid tentacles (suggestion #8) and raw fish organized randomly in a crafting table, it will make sushi. Sushi can replenish 3 full chicken legs on the hunger bar and would have the same saturation as mushroom stew.
10. Taiga Villages: It would be a village, made entirely out of ice and snow (igloos). Of course, the blacksmith would have to be changed. Lava just doesn’t seem like it would fit in a taiga village. It would have the same villagers as normal and it would just make taiga biomes not suck.
11. Varied Chiseled Sandstone: As of now, chiseled sandstone has 4 pictures on it. What if there were more pictures, and when placed, it would randomly select 4 pictures to use on it. It would give more variation to chiseled sandstone in my opinion.
12. Rail Placement Upgrades: When a rail is placed in the center of 4 other rails, each facing the center, it will randomly choose 2 rails to attach to. What if the rail placement was decided by standing on one rail and right-clicking on another? It would make the rail be attached to the rail you are standing on as well as the one you right-clicked. It would make rail placement easier and better.
13. Netherrack Smelting: Netherrack is the most flammable thing in Minecraft, so why can’t it be used in a furnace to smelt things. Netherrack would smelt one thing; therefore it would take 64 netherrack to smelt 64 items. I think it seems fair, so I think it should be added.
14. Bone Marrow: By putting 2 bone meal and 1 piece of steak in a crafting table, it will make bone marrow. Bone marrow will replenish 5 chicken legs and has the same saturation as steak.
15. World Generation Preferences: When generating the world, if you don’t use a specific seed, you should be able to select a biome that you would prefer to spawn in. It would allow the player to get better worlds that they would like.
16. Obsidian Boats: Does anyone else hate the fact that you can’t ride around in the nether oceans by boat? I sure do. So what if you could craft obsidian boats (made the same as boats, but with obsidian) that would be able to be used in lava oceans? I think it would improve the way people explore the nether.
17. Bookshelf Upgrades: What if bookshelves were crafted the same, just without books. You are probably confused, but hear me out. When placed, they would have no books. It would simply be an empty bookshelf. By right-clicking on the bookshelf while holding a book, it will gradually fill the bookshelf. It would take 3 books to completely fill the bookshelf. If you only have 1 book in the bookshelf, it will only do 1/3 the amount of effect on an enchantment table as normal. 2 books would do 2/3 the amount of effect on an enchantment table as normal. 3 books would do the same effect as they do now.
18. Ghasts Drop 0-2 Tears: As of now, ghasts drop 0-1 ghast tears, but they have 2 eyes. They each have tears coming from them, therefore they have 2 tears. Wouldn’t it make more sense if they dropped 0-2 ghast tears? Not to mention, ghast tears are freaking impossible to get, and them dropping 2 tears would help players out a lot.
19. Iron Links: If 2 iron ingots are crafted the same way as sticks are (but with iron of course), it would craft 2 iron links. By shift-clicking on a Minecart while holding the iron link, it would put a link on the minecart, then shift-clicking on another minecart would cause the 2 minecarts to link together. This would work for boats too, for reasons I will explain in the next couple suggestions…
20. Chest Boats: So, we have chest minecarts, and if iron links were added, chest boats would be really helpful for journeys. It would allow the people to store items while travelling over large oceans. The crafting is the same as a chest minecart, but with a boat instead of a minecart.
21. Furnace Boats: Similar to the chest boat, a furnace boat would allow the player to smelt items while on the run. It would not power the boats (like furnace minecarts); it would just be a basic furnace. The crafting is the same as a furnace minecart, but with a boat instead of a minecart.
22. Workbench Boat: It’s the same as a furnace boat but with a crafting table instead. I have nothing else to say.
23. Minecart With Workbench: We have furnace minecarts, chest minecarts, but why no workbench minecarts? Well if iron links were added, then this minecart would be quite useful for crafting things while riding your track to your base. It would be crafted the same as a minecart with furnace, but instead of a furnace, it would be a crafting table.
24. In Game Skin Change: We can change our texture packs in game now, why not skins? We could store all of our skins in a folder in the .minecraft folder, and in the game, we could open up the skin options and change it. It would save the time needed to change the skin, and it would be easier.
25. Direct Bed Dying: Different coloured beds have been a long time suggestion. Well, what if it was as easy as shift-clicking it while holding a dye. It would dye the blankets only.
26. Name Tags Work On Players: So, we have name tags for animals. Why can’t we use name tags to rename players? It would only appear on our screen, and in order to revert the player’s name back to normal, you would just shift-click on the player. It’s simple. It would get rid of the players name tag it already has above its head and replace it with the new one.
27. Corner Stair Upgrades: We have corner stairs, yet when we break the stairs that are touching the corner stair, the corner stair becomes a regular stair. I wish that if the player broke one of the stairs that creates the corner stair; it would still stay as that type of stair. It would allow us to use corner stairs without hiding other stairs among the builds.
28. Sideways Stairs: I have been wanting sideways stairs ever since upside-down stairs were added. They would be made by right-clicking on the side edge of a block while holding the stair. It would give us more creativity in building.
29. Sideways Slabs: Clicking on the top/bottom of a block will cause the slab to act normal, by either becoming an upside-down slab or a right-side up half slab. And in order to make it a sideways slab, you would right click on the side of a block; it would make the slab become vertical, up against the block. It would take some getting used to (like when wood become sideways-placeable, but it would be worth it.
30. Hardened Clay Bricks: Hardened clay was just added and it reminds me of stone. Wait a minute. We can make stone bricks out of stone, so we should be able to make hardened clay bricks! It would be crafted by putting 4 hardened clay blocks in a 2x2 area in the crafting table and would create 4 hardened clay bricks. They would look like stone bricks, but they would be red (like hardened clay).
31. Hardened Clay Brick Stairs: I know it’s a mouthful, but if we get hardened clay bricks, we obviously need hardened clay brick stairs. Crafted by using hardened clay bricks to make a stair formation in a crafting table. It would give you 4 hardened clay brick stairs.
32. Hardened Clay Brick Slabs: Oh boy, another mouthful! It would be crafted like any type of slab, using 3 hardened clay bricks. It would give you 6 hardened clay stone slabs.
33. Hardened Clay Slabs: I swear this is the last hardened clay-related suggestion. Using 3 hardened clay blocks (not bricks, blocks), the player could make hardened clay slabs. They would be like stone slabs, but would be red. They would look incredibly awesome and would be the best thing ever in the universe of everything ever.
34. Stair Crafting Fixes: Wait a minute. Are you telling me that with 6 full blocks, you can get 4 semi-blocks? That’s not right. You should get 6 stairs for every set of stairs crafted. If all you’re doing is removing 1 quarter of the block to make the stair, how do you end up with only 4 stairs, when you are using 6 stairs to make them? Seriously, it makes no sense.
35. Sign Editing: After placing a sign, you should be able to edit the sign, simply by right-clicking it. It’s happened so many times where I misspell something in a sign and I have to break it and start over. This would make it so much easier, and it’s not even a big change.
36. Book And Quill Upgrades: Don’t you hate it when you are writing in a book and quill, and then you realise that you made a spelling error 58 pages ago? Well, the only way to fix it is to hold backspace for a very long time and eventually return to the misspelled word. Why can’t we just click on a spot in the text and edit it like that? It would make writing easier.
37. Enchanted Bows In Dispensers: If you craft a dispenser with an enchanted bow, the dispenser (when shooting arrows) should keep the enchantment. So, if the bow had Looting III, then the dispenser would to. It would improve dispensers and would bring some neat creations into adventure maps.
38. Breakfast: We have cooked porkchops (which are initially bacon), eggs, and apples. How about if you mix these 3 foods with a bowl, you get a new food item, breakfast. It would completely refill your hunger bar and would have the double the saturation of steak. The bowl will not be eaten and can be reused after eating the breakfast. The interesting thing about breakfast is that you cannot make it after noon, though you can make it in the morning and eat it later on.
39. Minecart Crash Drops: When a boat crashes, it drops 3 wooden planks and 2 sticks. If you break it with your hands, then it drops a boat. It should be the same with a minecart. If it crashes into lava, cactus, fire (or anything that breaks the minecart normally), it should drop 3 iron ingots and 2 sticks (the sticks are like the axels for the wheels, so don’t ask).
40. Painting Control: You should be able to have more control over what a painting looks like that what we have now. Anyone can agree that breaking and placing and breaking and placing until you get the right one is quite annoying. When you place a painting, it should be 1x1 and blank. You can then right-click it and choose from all the types of paintings. If you choose one that isn’t 1x1, it will resize the painting. If there isn’t enough room, then it won’t let you.
