Clayball:
1 Clay can be crafted in 1 clayball in 2x2 crafting grid(inventory)
Clayballs and bricks can be thrown like a bow can be shot.
For example, minimum damage of clayball is 1(1/2 heart) and maximum - 5(2+1/2 heart).
Damage can be adjusted using charge, like bow - the more you charge, the stronger you throw, the more damage it does.
So:
Clayball
Travelling Speed: Almost like arrow
Accuracy: Somewhat lower than arrow (for 10 blocks range 1 block is misfired, 10 bl. Range/1 bl. Misfired)
The accuracy is shown like this: when projectile passes number of blocks it gets completely misfired on targeted block sometimes, and sometimes it will be accurate)
Range: Lower than arrow, as it is close range weapon (20 blocks)
Damage: 1-5 (heart halfs)
Ordinary damage(the damage when golem throws this projectile, or it was fired from Dispenser): 3 heart halfs.
Brick
Travelling Speed: Almost like arrow
Accuracy: Lower than arrow(9 bl. Range/1 bl. Misfired) - Lower accuracy!
Range: 25 Blocks
Damage: 2-10(heart halfs)
Ordinary Damage: 5 heart halfs
UPDATE:When collided with Glass Panes Bricks break them if throwing worths more than 3 hearts damage.
Clay Golems:
They are built from Clay blocks just exactly like Iron Golem.
Health: 10 hearts, Fire proof and Lava proof, making it good use for Nether. However, it may have low projectile or blast resistance to make it not overpowered but still useful.(You choose his weakness)
Attack type: Clayballs
Spot Range: 20 blocks
Speed: Slow, like other Golems
They are not really overpowered, they are balanced out by low damage - only 1.5 heart. What would you say?
Prove what's wrong with them? They are not useless but also not overpowered. We must have ranged golem with solid damage, not that useless snow golem with no damage.
Also they could ride horses if collided with saddled one and then he jockeys the horse.

Lets see
1: They are immune to fire and lava
2: They attack at a ranged distance and do from half a heart to 2 and a half hearts
3: Clay is extremely easy to obtain (I still do remember when It was the rarest material in the game)
1) yes they are specialized for anti-fire but in real lyfe such golem would freeze..
2) Read Ordinary Damage of Clayball
3) Clay still is rare material even on some 1.5.1 version seeds and needs effort to find it. But effort is rewarding!
Or, you could go to the ocean and mine tons of it. Clay is common if you know what you're doing. Bring a few signs and doors, and you've got the means to mine as much clay as you can hold without running out of air. I once made an air bubble walkway some 300 blocks long with signs alone - can you guess how much clay I harvested along the way?
Even a weak, slow mob like a the Clay Golem would end up is formidable in large groups, and I've enough clay to make an army. Just...just think about that in multiplayer, now. Wanna defend your house? Forget wolves. Station clay golems in elevated towers, and the only thing that can fight back is the skeleton.

It took me literally seconds to find enough clay for 5 of these golems, and I could have found more. I have a video of it, but I would need to upload it to YouTube.

The idea of clayballs and trowable bricks seems really stupid to me, i dont see the point of both, plus, clayballs already exist...
Golem sounds better, but a bit overpowered, why are they invincible againts lava and fire? just make them resistant...
Resistant? What did you mean? Time of immunity to fire or travel block limit? If it is time then he would be wise and get out of lava/fire before his time runs out

No, that's not what i ment at all, Give him a high fire resistance, (like that he always got fire protection) so fire and lava hurts him less then other damagesources....
First off, I'd like to say that crafting clay into a clay ball seems weird because it is already a ball.
Anyway, my suggestion:
Instead of having the bricks/clayballs deal damage, I think they should be part of a new puzzle mechanic. Mabye when you drop a brick/clay entity (with q) it will be able to activate stone pressure-plates or count as a higher weight value for the new weighted pressure plates. This could help map developers out making interesting puzzles.
I would like the ascetic of a clay golem (mabye one built out of the new hardened clay), but I can't think of a use for it. I certainly shouldn't be very strong, or a fighter as (like people pointed out) clay is so common it would easily be OP. Instead, mabye this golem can mine and digs out an area like a quarry (slowly of course). There needs to be a way of doing this.
hmm, if not overpowered then no use... And golem is a military man which must attack. Maybe they're made from brick block to make greater effort to make them? Finally, what is not overpowered? In SMP - totally nothing. In MMP - totally everything - means nothing. Any player with enough clay is able to build some clay golems to defend from attackers...
