Magic. Magic like Fireballs and transforming into passive mobs. (Pigs, Sheep, Chicken, Cow, Squid, Bat and Mooshroom) Magic would cost Mana. The amount of Mana would be the same amount as the Player's health in Hearts. Magic would include Fireballs, Turning water into ice, Teleportation, Etc. To make the spells not overpowered, Mana would be depelted after one spell. Mana recharges the same speed as hearts. (Faster on Peaceful and slower on Hard) To prevent griefing, Server ops could disable Magic terrain damage. Wands would be crafted like this: (I= Stick O= Diamond See End of Post) Diamonds to prevent it being OverPowered.
i think a scroll / spell book system would be better then Mana.
writable book, alchemy mats + experience levels to make a one use spell.
fireball could need gunpowder, blaze powder and a ghast tear and how many ever exp, say maybe 15-20
First of all, adding diamonds to a recipe doesn't make it balanced. Just shiny. Take D armor, D swords, and the enchanting table. Combine them...yeah, you know what I'm getting at.(God-level enchanted D equipment) Not balanced. Just shiny.
The idea is interesting, yes, but it depends. A fireball with no terrain damage, doing about as much as a charged arrow, that can be used only about once every five seconds is entirely different than a rapid-fire fireball blaster that can one-shot zombies and does TNT level griefing with each shot. To what strength are these spells?
Another fact being that the game already has items for the exact functions of most of these spells. Dispenser + Fire Charge = Fireball. Ender Pearl = Teleport. Water Bucket + Taiga = Water to Ice.(I know that one's a lame example.) Also, fact of the matter is, 1 diamond is actually not too hard to get. The average amount I've obtained from going down into one mine and doing some excavation is 3.5 diamonds. At this point, why include it at all.
There are several mods for magic if you want it, but this idea, at best, needs refinement.
To those above me saying it's oversuggested, just report the post and/or give examples. Otherwise it's no better than spam.
There should be Rare Magic scrolls found in Dungeon chest which teach you Certain Powers depending on which Scroll it is, Like skyrim, also i think the Teleporting Magic would be overpowered, And it is still overpowered with the diamond, i find diamonds within the first 10-Minutes of playing
