It's the evolution of rollercoasters. Upside-down rails and carts. They'd be simple, you go upside-down. Nothing special. This could add so much more to rollercoasters, and would give more incentive for people to use minecarts, which have been in the game since nearly the beginning.

This is very vague. How could I make special upside-down rails, or are they just placeable on the ceiling? How would I make the transition from right-side up to upside-down?
Put some more detail in. Until then, no support
Support. I think upside down carts can be very useful. It should include more details, like how is the cart going to react with upside-down/sideways rails.
This... could actually be good. I didn't think so at first, but now that I consider it, it could make roller coasters more interesting - of course, rails would have to be placeable on walls as well. The only concerns I have are:
The camera view and player model would both have to be turned upside-down, something that never happens in-game (currently). If minecarts were able to move your view up and down on slopes, that problem would be easy to fix, and I guess turning over the player model wouldn't be too hard.
Minecarts shouldn't just stick to ceiling rails. If possible, they should be implemented like real life - they'll fall off of ceiling rails (after a few seconds, to allow larger loops).

Custom maps requiring a player to ride upside-down (e. g. through a chasm)?
I dont think adding upside down rails for the sole purpose of creating community maps is a good idea. It would still render its self as useless as lapis for the average player.

Nothing in minecraft is useless. At all.
As for the OP, it is redundant.
