Something that mapmakers would find quite useful is a 'sound block', some kind of Redstone signal-operated block (only obtainable through the 'give' command, like the command block) that, when powered, would play a sound with a user-defined falloff distance and volume. Right-clicking the block would open a GUI that would allow players to browse the resource folder and choose whichever sound they wanted to play from the game files.
This would allow mod compatibility (to a limited extent), and would be an enormous asset for mapmakers, as a simple addition of a file folder in the rescources folder would allow for custom music, sound effects, and dialogue along with custom maps!
I'm sure this has been suggested many times before... but I haven't actually seen the idea posted yet. Just figured I'd share it.
No.... this should not be the jukebox or the noteblock. It should be a specific blocks for this, or even a command for the command block such as: /play @a[r=5] # . The # would be the number of the sound in the soundtrack and what it would do is play that sound for all in the radius of 5 of the command block.

Better yet, the Note block.
