So I've been working on a custom map. This map is an endless survival map, where a team of 6 has to defend against waves and waves of Zombies, Skeletons, Spiders, Creepers, and Slimes. The players lose when a mob gets to the very end of the map, falls down a pit, and hits a pressure plate causing the map to reset. However, the map is fairly large, and even when a villager is used, it only lures in Zombies, and Zombies don't come from a far enough distance. What do I suggest? I suggest two path-finding tools: the Path-Finder, and the Path-Finding dust.
First of all, the Path Finder. The Path Finder would be spawned in using commands, similar to Command Blocks. The Path Finder would also have a GUI. The GUI would have several options and input boxes. "Go to: *space to write*", and the names of each hostile mob. Each mob's name has a check box next to it. Now, here's what these options do.
"Go to:" is the mob's destination. If you put in 80 73 573, the mob would go as close to the coordinates 80 73 573 as it could. If it couldn't reach, it'd calculate what position it could stand in that would help it get closest it could, and stand there. It'd stand there and wait for a time to get in.
The mobs are what mobs follow the path. Endermen and Spiders wouldn't have a box, but instead a small drop down that gave them two boxes. Endermen would have "teleport", and Spiders would have "climb walls". If teleport is off, Endermen will walk the path, but if turned on, they'll teleport short distances to minimize the time taken to reach the destination. Spiders won't climb walls if climb walls is off, but if it's on, spiders will climb over walls to reach their destination.
Yeah, I know, I didn't give detail on the mobs and how it works. The path-finding block also works as a mob spawner, spawning all mobs that are turned on. If run through MCedit or NBTedit, it could possibly even spawn in custom mobs, such as "Diamond Zombie", which would be a Zombie with Diamond Armor and a Diamond Shovel, or "buddar skelton," which is a Skeleton with Gold Armor.
Alright so I was asked for a simpler one so spoiler tags time, I guess.
Alright so, the Path-Finding Block is a block that can only be spawned in using the /give command or a map editing tool, such as NBT edit or MC edit. This block can modify any mob's pathfinding, allowing a player to redirect a mob and get them to a specific location. This block when right clicked opens a GUI that has several options: "Destination", with a bar under it that allows an input and the names of each mob that it can have follow it.
You can put in the mob's destination using the "Destination" option. In here you input coordinates. If you put in "0, 70, 0" the mob would go to X: 0, Y: 70, and Z: 0. If for some reason it couldn't make it to those coordinates, it'd simply get as close as possible.
Did you know?: The Path Finding block also functions as a monster spawner. However, it spawns mobs at any light level. A mob can be chosen to spawn using check boxes near each mob's name. Custom mobs can also be added, such as Wither Skeletons with Diamond Swords, or Zombies with Gold Shovels. When a check box is turned on, that mob spawns from the mob spawner every minute. However, the block can be run through a map making tool to modify the amount of time. Also, there is an option to disable Endermen teleporting next to the Enderman's name, and an option to disable Spider's climbing next to both of the Spiders' names.
So, if you have anything to suggest that could make this better, or anything I should go into detail on (except my map. It's a secret to anyone who isn't Mr360Games and jpmrocks), tell me and I most likely will.
I'm a bit confused. What can this do, and can we get concepts? Just sketches are fine.
In a nutshell, it is a way to force mobs to go to certain areas or to follow certain paths. It could be used on Tower Defense maps or things like that.

Oh, thank you. The abstract helped a lot.
I'd support in that case. I can forsee plenty of uses, by hypixel especially.

I have discovered a truly remarkable proof of this, which this margin is too small to contain.

Alright, I'll do that. Probably going to remove the dust, too.
Like Badprenup said: Tower Defense maps and stuff like that.
Well I was going to keep the map secret but since someone just mentioned part of the title eh...
Whatever. Anyways, I'm going to make the suggestion a bit more simple, like yoshi said to.
