i have been thinking, on adventure maps, when they get to the part were mob detection is needed; they use a pressure plate. but the player steps on the pressure plate to get past that part. so why isnt there an @mp(nearest mob) @ma(all mobs) and @mr(random mob) for command blocks? it would help alot with detecting mobs, like this /testfor @mp[r=2]. it would detect a mob only. there should also be an mob_type(example:/testfor @mp[mob_type=bat]) for mob detection.
should see this. Say if I am wrong, but command blocks are for adventure maps, not creative or survival.

And yes, command blocks are meant for adventure maps. There's no argument about that.
But this suggestion is redundant. And while I admit I did have to look for a bit to find that thread, I prefer it to this one; it's much more detailed and thought out.

I think that is the whole point of this suggestion.
