Hey, guys, does anyone know what's stopping Mojang from adding backpacks to the game? It's because a lot of people would consider it cheating, because you would gain more inventory space. But about half of the community has been waiting for this feature ever since they bought the game. I've decided to publicize my idea of a compromise between the two points of view:
What if there were four types of backpacks:
'Tool Backpack': has eight spaces, the ninth taken up by a tool logo, and can only hold tools, weapons, and arrows. Crafted by leather surrounding an iron pickaxe.
'Digging Backpack': has eight spaces, the ninth taken up by a cobblestone logo, and can only hold cobblestone, gravel, sand, dirt, and coal. Crafted by leather surrounding a piece of coal.
'Food Backpack': has eight spaces, the ninth taken up by a food logo, and can only hold food items (that includes wheat, sugar, etc.) Crafted by leather surrounding a cake.
'Ender Backpack': has nine spaces that are made up of the top row of your Ender Chest network, and can hold any items. Crafted by leather surrounding an Ender Chest.
You can only hold one of each kind backpack in your inventory. Also no backpackseption as obvious by the item rules. Have fun and kill LOTSA creepers.
Er... Well, I don't know that Backpacks have ever been a thing that Mojang has announced they would like to add to the game, but here's the reason I don't think there's a need for backpacks: Steve can already hold a mountain in his inventory. As far as I'm concerned, Steve has always had a backpack.
Not that I don't like your ideas at all, they're interesting to be honest. It's just that if players want more storage space on the go, mojang has decided to tie them to mine tracks for use with a minecart/chest.

I guess it would still be cool to have the top 9 slots of your Ender Chest network in your Ender Backpack.
I'm thinking the tool backpack only. I hate when I go on big cave expeditions with tonnes of tools ('cause that's just how I play) and end up coming back with less than I could have. Forcing me to find my way back somehow through the gargantuan cave system I just spent an hour trying to get out of. It's really a pain since I have ZERO sense of direction. So...yeah. Being able to free up nine slots of would-be tools is pre sick.

Just adding "ender" to something doesn't make it good.
