It loads all of the normal files it usually does but it gives you an ip address from the start.
I know many people can make a server in under one minute, but this will give many players the opportunity to make a server easily and without having to do port forwarding and whatnot.

Hosting a server without port-forwarding is impossible. Asking Mojang to allow you to make a server without port-forwarding is like asking them to make your computer magically grow wings and fly.
You have to port forward. HAVE TO. There is no getting around it, no matter what. The only thing that it could do differently is tell you your IP address when it initializes the server. That would be easy. But you will always need to port forward with the Minecraft server software.

As the others have said, to make a dedicated server, there is NO WAY to get around port forwarding. Besides, if someone doesn't have enough devotion and skill to learn how to set up a server, how can they actually keep it alive?
Either use Minecraft Realms when it comes out soon, or pay for good server hosting now.
If you're too cheap, use freeminecrafthost.com.
It's okay. You can only have 4 players and it won't always let your server run. If you want a good, legit server, you should just buy one. If you're too cheap to buy one, chances are you won't even run a good server anyway.

I think Mojang should make it to where you do this:
- Go to www.minecraft.net
- Click "Download"
- Click either of the multiplayer server files
- It loads all of the normal files it usually does but it gives you an ip address from the start.

It is something you must use Google instead of waiting for replies to learn about.
