Now I know what your thinking "there is like, 50 mods like this.", but hear me out.
What It does:
Adds Throwable spears that can also be used as swords and picked up, and adds shields that can be dual wielded with spears, torches, swords, etc. Shields Would reduce the Damage done by all other items by x amount depending on material used, but would cause the user to look away(stutter effect). The Shield Would be crafted using 9 (leather, gold, iron, or diamond) around 1 piece of leather. The spear could be thrown and does less damage then a sword, but has more range in melee. The crafting recipe could be two sticks one in the bottom left one in the middle then the material in top right like this.

Last is the Dual wielding system which can be useful in mining. Say you hate switching between torch, and pickaxe. So you can put a torch in one hand then your Pickaxe in the other and place torches while mining. You could also experiment with dual wielding swords or sword plus shield or spear and shield, etc. The system could be in the gui you can place left item in a bonus slot on the left and right on the right. Then you could choose which key to use each item with
Uses:
Pvp, Survival, and hunger games servers could benefit by adding more options in fights this could benefit wars and ctf as well.

Like shoving a spear through a zombies head and stuff...
