Corrosion enchantment is what it does, it deals extra durability damage to armor.
It's a Sword enchantment but can be applied to Axes with enchanted books.
What is the effect of Corrosion enchantment? It deals 1 extra damage to armor durability per level. For additional balance, it reduces sword damage by 1 point per 2 levels, max reduction is 3 points if you hack the enchantment levels. Therefore, Diamond sword with Corrosion X would do 10 armor damage but do only 2 hearts of damage.
You can counter the damage reduction by adding Sharpness.
The maximum level from Enchantment Table is III, inflicting 3 durability damage to armor and reduce sword damage by 1. You can raise it further with Enchanted Books, up to V.
If player is blocking with sword and is hit by sword with Corrosion, the sword used to block takes durability damage. It doesn't damage held tools.
It can even damage mob armor. Unbreaking effect still kicks in, having a chance to resist Corrosion.
This will change PvP, you can enchant sword with Corrosion III, doing damage to diamond armor, breaking the armor in the process and leaving the player vulnerable. However, your sword is slightly weaker for additional balance. And if you do get Corrosion V, expect your diamond sword to be just as powerful as Stone Sword.
However, it may be useless in Single player, unless the mobs are armored. Then you can keep on hitting the mobs until their armor breaks.
This is pretty much a PvP-only thing. Yes, I know mobs have armor, but they aren't common enough or a big enough threat over unarmored mobs to me that I'd want this over any other enchants even if it didn't reduce the damage of the sword itself. If it's added, it should be with a bunch of other PvP-based stuff that's only enabled by a new gamerule or something
The damage reduction makes this enchantment useless on a sword. I would only support this if it can only be obtained from enchanting a book or stronghold loot.

Armour breaks way too quickly anyway; I put unbreaking 10 on my armour in fights before (I'm admin on a server), and my armour breaks before the fight ends. No support-
