With the new addition of Minecarts with Command Blocks inside them, all the new commands, etc., this is almost a must. When I saw that the new variant of Minecarts was being added, I started designing things in my head which use it. However, most of them included using multiple commands in one command block. I think it would make sense for them to be separated by a pipe (|), so that mapmakers and just everyday Minecraft players can have more flexibility with their game.

I am trying to use the new command blocks in mine carts which summon a structure relative to where they are using /setblock so that the structure can seem to be moving. I can have lots of mine carts stacked on top of each other but that lags and stacking them crashes mcedit because it is so long. (There is 800+ mine carts)

For everyone who's complaining about not having enough space for your command blocks... why not just have the one command block /setblock a redstone block somewhere else, to activate more command blocks? That way unless your entire map is filled to the brim with command blocks, you shouldn't have any problems with space.
Though this seems like a good idea nonetheless. Maybe pressing Tab could open up a new line, with one command per line? The only problem I could think of would be people pasting incredibly large server-crashing codes into the command block, though that's probably possible now anyways.
EDIT: Just realized, this isn't that important now because you can put more than one minecart command block in a one block space. But it would make it easier. So I still support, it just isn't as urgent.

That wouldn't be a problem unless you gave out free ops, in which case you would be granting them the rights to destroy your server anyway.

I am so mad at the Sky fanboys who are like "ADD BUUUDDDER TWO MINCRFT CUZ BURDR Z SP ASWUM ND STUFZ BUDDERBUDDERBUDDER :D:D:D:D" that I am dedicating my signature to stopping them. I had gone into more depth, but the stupid signature limit stopped me. Oh well.

my thought was to have the commands split up by an & like it is for most programming languages. I would like tab to be used to auto fill a command like you can in chat

Oh, derp. Completely forgot the "Tab" key was useful.
Yeah, I guess an ampersand could work, I guess. :3

I think the main point is that sometimes you are building an actual map, not a puzzle map, and you only have room for 1 or 2 command blocks. Because of this, it doesn't matter that you can just spawn a block to activate more command blocks, because you do not have room for those other command blocks anyway.
That is the issue that I am beginning to run into on my server, and it would be so nice to be able to have multiple commands in one block.
Could just use multiple command blocks, not that hard. No Support.
True, but using the new /setblock command to, perhaps, build a structure as part of an adventure map, it would take a LOT of command blocks. This addition would be incredibly compact and much more useful for adventure map developers. Support.
Instead of adding more rows for each command and still be limited to the amount of lines, I'd like the possibility to seperate commands with a ;
Like this:
/time set day;/tell QUBiCA Time has been set to day.
This will make the amount of commands almost unlimited. I'd like to have more than one command on a Command Block, but not by adding more lines.
I think you are a little confused about the topic. Everyone here wants exactly what you want. I personally think using "and" "or" and other things from code will give some people a start at coding and make them want to start actual coding.
The multiple lines poll is not one command per line but multiple lines so that you can see one long command rather than having to scrollOn a slight tangent but the same theme
What would people want to see more code possibilities in command blocks
By this I mean being able to import scoreboard values anywhere within a command as well as other things

I support. This would be useful, because what I want is like a event system where on screen it would say "Looks like something didn't digest very well" and it would give them nausea for 15 seconds. I would use a @r command, but using 2 command blocks, I am afraid that it would target one person and say the message, and someone else would get the nausea.
Again, I extremely support, and it should be a feature.
Still, all you need is just a bunch of command blocks and a Redstone signal turning them on at the same time. I don't really think it's worth the trouble to add this.

Agreed this would compact it down a lot and I do support this thread. If you want to do that with what we have at the moment you could have one command block pick a random player and set a dummy variable to 1. The next two command blocks would say what you want it to say with parameters to only say it to people with the dummy score of 1 and then the same but with nausea rather than whisper. You would then need one last command block to set the dummy variable to 0 for those who it was 1 before. I can't remember what the commands would be so you will have to do some research

Support, except that you should be able to run multiple commands from one block if they are the same command. But i really like the idea with pvp kits. I find the current system really hard to manage.

I think just AND would do the trick but you would have to add something so that it does not mix it up for normal text
