*I had an old post about this before, but that was practically three months ago so I think it would be better to make another thread and say more stuff instead of just bumping it*
An interesting idea that I thought of were Traveler villagers.
There will be lonely, single Travelers spread throughout the overworld, and they will trade rare goods for large amounts of resources (such as 25 oak logs for an ender pearl), they usually stay within their nomadic mudhut or something because you want to go back to them (I'm open for better ideas, and tents have slopes, so that's a no-no), and they should be almost as rare as a mushroom biome because of these trades.
They should have around 2-4 trades maximum, and they will not increase as you trade with them. They do not despawn, and they defend themselves throughout the night with their iron sword. They have twice the amount of health as the player.
They basically have a light-brown robe, look like villagers, have like a brown safari hat or something and have a dark brown backpack equipped. They drop nothing when killed, and will not affect the relationship of other villages except for themselves (like hurting them will affect his own relationship with you)
I'm open for any other ideas. This may sound like a lot, but it is really supposed to be really simple and I'm just describing how he interacts with the world. Please state your reason on why you agree or disagree. Thanks.
Yeah, something trivial like logs shouldn't be a trade option.
I don't like to sound harsh, But that's the point of it, and it's suppose to be in a large amount. That's why they're rare. And they're not supposed to be an emerald trade, either.

The large amount and how rare it is changes absolutely nothing. It doesn't matter if you're trading 5 oak wood or two stacks of 64, it's still too easy. You can collect that amount of wood from a few seconds to a few minutes. Villagers already have some simple trades.

I still don't see how it's too easy, because it would still be time-consuming for clear-cutting a forest for specific logs for two stacks of 64 and it would make sense for a nomad to want resources like that. How about if the trade will have a higher chance of expiring than a normal trade?
Did you get this from the primitive mobs mod? Because it has traveler villagers who offer items like swords or a diamond, and each one has either emeralds or a type of gem which you must give to get the sword, diamond etc.

Seriously? COME ON! I thought this was an original idea by myself, only to be beaten by someone else.

You're probably just better off scrapping this part. Forever. Because now you're throwing in all these extras in a vain attempt to balance one easy trade. Mojang isn't gonna have villagers trade trivial crap like cobblestone, dirt, wooden planks, torches or wooden logs for emeralds. That'd be stupid. Some trades in-game are pretty easy already, such as 9-12 cooked fish or 14-21 wool for an emerald.

*Quickly runs to nearest oak tree*
*Collects easy Emeralds*

May you link me it please?

I have a Spoon. Your argument is invalid.

Well, it still actually is.
