Ever since cows started dropping beef in beta, pigs have been second best. Cows are the main source of food as they drop 1-3 meat whereas pigs drop 0-2 pork. And it doesn't help that you can get leather and milk from them as well. There's even an ultra-op version of the cow called the mooshroom! And just as you thought pigs couldn't get more useless, Mojang made pigs only breed with somewhat rare carrots. There is now nothing stopping you from deciding to kill every last pig (except for riding them, but let's get real). So I thought of 3 new drops for pigs. If you do or don't like them please tell why, and criticize me as much as you want; I'm not easily offended.
Ribs
Pigs, when killed, will drop 1-2 Raw Ribs. Raw ribs by themselves fill one "meat pop", but if you cook one, they fill 2. Baby pigs also have a 70% chance of drop a single rib.
Ham
Pigs have a 25% chance of dropping ham. Next to golden apples and golden apples, ham is the best food in the game. It fills as much as pork, but it has excellent saturation. When feeding wolves, it heals them completely.
Rib Rack
Pigs have a 10% chance to drop a rib rack with a Looting I sword, a 30% chance with a Looting II sword, and a 50% with a Looting III sword. The rib rack itself isn't food but it gives you 16 cooked ribs if you put it in a furnace. You can convert it into 16 raw ribs in a crafting area, but there isn't a real reason to waste coal and cook all 16 separately.
Pigs still drop pork, but only 0-1 and with a 25% 2.
I just have one more suggestion for pigs. They should breed with apples and melons too. Both are hard to get and pigs eat them in real life as well. If you feed them a golden carrot, a golden apple, or a glistering melon, they give 2 off-springs (both parents need the golden variety.)
2 things: 1 good idea. 2. pigs drop 1-3 food, cows: 0-2, so u got it wrong there... and the only reason cows are better, it because of leather, which is used mostly for books.
I like the idea, but I think it shouldn't drop a 'rib rack'... it could maybe be a storage block or w/e, but it seems a little OP, as said before. and ham should be a block. (WE NEED FOOD BLOCKS. :P) +1

This is wrong, in alpha cows would drop leather and only leather, cows only dropped beef since 1.8. Pigs where the only way of getting meat up until 1.8
Carrying on from this however;
Here is what I think if pigs also drop the Pork we have now, and all above:
No, overpowered, no support.
However, if they no longer drop the classic Pork:
Ribs : Great idea, although only 1-2 would be a little less OP
Ham : I would not support this, as once again this would render pigs OP
Rib Rack : I would not support this, as once again this would render pigs OP
Now you're probably thinking "What a ****, this makes pigs even more useless!" However, I feel the pigs should still drop the classic Pork, although not Ham or Rib Rack.
This is my opinion on your suggestion.
Oh, and
