Hey guys, I came up with a new block/entity/thing that could be added in a new update! I don't think anyone has suggested it and it would add a new level of momentum and fun to mobility! This new block is the Rope Swing, and is crafted like a Stone Pickaxe but with string in place of sticks. It can only be placed on the bottom of a block, and appears like a slab with 3 skinny rope 'pieces' hanging below it. To use the Rope Swing, just right-click and you're ready to go! Use W and D (or whatever forward and backwards button you use) to swing back and forth, and press space-bar to jump off with the momentum you get from the swing!
Using the Rope Swing to build momentum gives you longer jump range- if you swing 1-3 times, it increases your jump by 2 blocks, 4-6 3 blocks, 7-8 4 blocks, and more than 9 will extend your airtime by a whopping 5 blocks! As an added bonus, if you're sprinting when you right click a Rope Swing, you'll already have the momentum of 2 swings.
However, even though it can give you big swinging jumps or add atmosphere to an adventure map, Rope Swings have their downside- you lose 0.5 hunger points for every 3 seconds on the rope swing, so you can't just keep building up momentum. Here's a quick list of all the practical uses Rope Swings can be used for!
Quick escape out of base with water landing pad
Use in an adventure map for a daring jump over lava!
Put them below some white wool and make a Ghast dummy
I think Rope Swings would add new depth to mobility and be really fun and practical! If you support this idea, give the post a +1 and leave feedback! I'll be taking feedback to make the post better, so don't be afraid to give ideas.
