We should be able to make bookshelves that, when right-clicked, send a redstone signal (at the highest redstone power level). This would really help my library with a secret door!
Oh, and these bookshelves would look identical, except maybe a little bit of redstone-looking-thing on the bottom on top.
These could maybe be called "Hidden Levers" or "Lever Bookshelf". If destroyed, it drops itself (if axe is used, otherwise it drops nothing). These would be useful in adventure maps where there is a hidden room in a library, accessible only by finding and clicking on the correct bookshelf. It works the same way as a lever does, and can be used by any side. Also, it could be added into strongholds to open into a room with a fully powered enchanting table.
Maybe you could take a bookshelf, apply some redstone dust, or preferably a lever or tripwire in a crafting table, and then you could right click to send a redstone signal to adjacent blocks. It could have an orangish tint like trapped chests.
I would post a pic, but my preferred recipe generator is down for maintenance.
This is a very good idea. I suggest adding much more detail, say, two to three more paragraphs, but yeah. This is good.

Use the "qoute" button at the bottom of a post so you don't have to use "@."
I'll generally use the quote button, but when I'm going to be replying to the whole thread, I won't be quoting the whole thing, I'll just use @whoever. Otherwise the page gets cluttered up.

I think it is. What I was saying was not, "I don't know how" or, "it would be difficulty", but rather, "the whole page would be quoted, and these people have only posted once, so it won't be hard to figure out which post I'm talking about".

You can quote people like you just did. also, if you post and then post again, the postgs will be joined

You wouldn't have to use it.
@randommcstuff
I'm asking for it to be implemented in-game, so that it stays throughout updates instantly. And, um... That video isn't loading for me.
@crazeenuthead
Maybe
(L = Lever, R = Redstone Dust, B = Bookshelf, ... = nothing (all unaccounted for spaces also blank)
[L B
... R]
or
[B L
... R]
I'll try to get in some more detail, too... It's past midnight, and I'm tired.
