Zombie pigmen go in groups and if you attack them, you might save yourself with a golden carrot.
How does it work?
With the golden carrot, right click a zombiepigman that is chasing you, then it will stop chasing you and show a heart and will forgive you, making it less harder to defeat the group that is chasing you.
Why golden carrots?
This is really simple, so this is why golden carrots only work on zombie pigmen: Pigs love carrots, zombies drop carrots, zombie pigmen love gold, and a pig and a zombie equal a zombie pigmen. So that means zombie pigmen love golden carrots.
Seems logical, but useless. Zombie pigmen don't attack you unless you attack them first. What would be more useful is using the golden carrot to cure them into the unimplemented non-zombie pigman.

Yes. That's a really good idea. It forms a nice parallel with the villager-zombie relationship.
But no, the way I see it, if you've provoked a zombie pigman, you probably had it coming.
Anyways, I'd support this. Zombie pigmen aren't very hard to kill (back up and click), but ever since they got the ability to run they've become a bit annoying, and it kind of sucks when I hit one accidentally while I'm trying to shoot a ghast or a blaze.
On the other hand, Droideka30's idea is very intriguing too, if indeed regular pigmen are ever to be added to the game.

This was suggested earlier in the thread, but I think It'd work well. Also, easier is the word for less harder.
