ok i was just wondering would it be a fairly decent idea to make it possible to give villagers weapons and ammo
to try to protect themselves at least a little? i mean im in the process of making my second village and i really dont have time to protect each village i make...
EXAMPLE: you give a villager a bow and some arrows and he becomes an archer (just a simple villager with a bow) OR you give a villager a sword and they become a knight (villager with slightly increased health and a skin similar to iron armor) i just think it would be a decent idea to incorporate into minecraft to make things a little easier on the player BUT the weapons durability can erode at a normal to slightly increased rated depending on how many mobs they kill a night
i just want to hear thoughts on it because sometimes it can be really tedious to make sure villages remain whole
Well, I think villagers are supposed to be weak. If they were not, they wouldn't need iron golems to protect them. If you are making a village, you could simply light up everything in and around the village.
This has been suggested before here, but I still think it's a pretty good idea. Like BodOwens said, the problem is that mojang has already implemented iron golems and this seems to make them obsolete.

The sentence above me is false.
