Edit: I like the idea of sharks sometimes spawning with fish; it's a really original way to incorporate visible fish.

I suggested in a fishing thread (one of) that phantom fish could spawn around the hook/float/thing, not actually being there but displaying graphics. It would basically be the uncooked fish item, possibly with a hinge in the middle. A similar concept could be applied here - a small school of fish could follow the shark, scattering and despawning if disturbed.

(yay for items now being 3D at all times, also, yay for not reading all the pages of a short thread *innocent whistle*)

I'm finding myself leaning on the idea that a water breathing status should be obtained by potions (rather than easily cooking meat), but it'll still be worth seeing what people say if I start a poll.
Also I want to stay away from chain armor, but only because it seems that Mojang aren't even if they want to have it in their game.

Although that reminds me of sharks that have entire chain armor in their stomach. Maybe it would make a neat drop for a more hostile mob (or even for a nurse shark as a little Easter Egg)...

I like this idea, adding a non hostile shark mob does seem a tad silly but I guess it prevents incidents like say if you accidentally fall into the ocean you wouldn't want to instantly be shark meat.

A reward for killing them could be something like erm... Shark meat, makes the most sense!
