Well to start us off..
They pop out near the shore on sand.
Clams would appear darkish brown on sand, which would be easy to spot.
You just dig the sand and clams would pop out
Then you take the clam and put them in the furnace and get cooked clam
•Clam- Heals 0.5 Hunger if eaten without cooking (0.5 hunger=half a chicken leg)
•Cooked Clam- Heals 1.5 Hunger if eaten without cooking (1.5 hunger= 1 and a half chicken leg)
You can easily make a clam farm by putting sand under a 4by4 or larger water source.
Every block of sand underwater in a 4by4 or larger water source has a chance of 5% of spawning clams on it as each day pass. The bigger the water source. The easier to get clam.
25% of each clam you get may get poisoned with bad weather like if it snows and the ice freezes.
the poisoned clam would act as a poisoned potatoe
Easy Food-Easy Farm
While I like the idea of more water content, another easy to farm food source isn't what I want. No support.

Well I don't think a clam might be a good idea. And as food it might be too easy to get it. Minecraft is challenging at the moment with all these new features. But with more ways for food, It's getting easier.
I kinda like this idea. It's very simple yet it makes sense. I know you guys are saying it would be an easy way to get food but:
He did say clams would have a somewhat low chance of spawning
Digging sand under water is not easy. It takes forever to break blocks while swimming and you have to be careful not to drown. Now, there would be two ways to making this easier. You could either scoop up the water with multiple buckets or fill in the water with dirt or something... But if you go through all that trouble for clams, you deserve to get to eat them. Imho. It'd be no easier than killing a cow and cooking its meat.
