In the Minecraft launcher, there should be a new thing, under Multiplayer, that says Wardrobe. It will be a place to change and store skins, like on the Xbox (Mojang will also need to make skins able to be saved to the account). People would download skins and change skins a lot faster. This is kind of a short suggestion, but it would be awesome if this was added.

When will Minecraft stop updating? When pigs fly over the frozen plains of hell, twice in a blue moon, while Taylor Swift sings a song called, "Maybe I'm the Problem".
While I would tend to support, I also... don't support.
Visual recognition is very important in communities, and since the skin texture is so lo-res, and the player's body metrics configuration is totaly nil (all Steves are exactly the same height, girth, mensurations, etc.), then the only thing remaining is using the entire skin for player recognition of other players, leaving only a few pixels in the face for ultimately help distinguishing from amongst... how many players already?
Making changing this feature easy would cause much more confusion than the fun that would be obtained from the freedom to change one's character's clothing.
Overall, a good idea... that would cause more harm than good!

So you're telling me you actually use the skin to identify a player, and not the floating freaking name bar right above their heads?

Hmm, I am fairly neutral, though that's only because you need to clarify your suggestion. Do you mean that this is simply a more game-play-incorporated way of changing your skin, then I am all ears.
On a side-note. Even though nametags is a way to determine who it is you are looking at, knowing a person by his/hers skin is over-all much more common amongst players that know each others, and what skins they have. At distance there is an advantage of telling persons apart by colors and appearances rather than a so low-res text that it becomes impossible to clarify what it says from farther than 20 blocks away...

Yeah, it's like the Xbox skin changing mechanic.
