Not EVERYONE has to agree with this, but I think the Rubies from 12w21a should return! It could be like a regular mineral like Coal, Iron, Gold, Lapis Lazuli, Redstone, Diamond, and Emeralds. The Ruby Ore would probably be in layers 5-10 or something. The Ruby armor, tools, and weapons would be a little stronger than the Diamond armor, tools, and weapons. Anyone agree?
i don't know, i'm pretty sure mojang said there won't be anymore minerals used to make tools, but if not, that i guess it could be ok, but this needs more detail like what else it's used for
No support. Diamonds are the ICONIC godtier. GODTIEEEEEEEEEEEEER! And, ahem, atleast with hardness, minecraft is sorta realistic. Gold and wood are weak, iron and stone are harder, diamond is EXTREMELY hard. How are rubies, a form of corundum, harder than diamond?

There are word choices I wouldn't choose in that post...

All of those are correct, except on one note: Minecraft's hardness scale is not accurate. It is not as hard to break obsidian as minecraft makes it seem

It does in some ways.
As I explained, with hardness, it is one of the few things were it DOES make sense. Besides, as I said, diamonds are ULTRA ICONIC.
