Now I've seen some posts about vampires and graveyards, but I still want to get mine out there.
Alright, so basically there's a new structure called a graveyard. Other people have said this, but just stay with me. It is surrounded by dark fences and has maybe 10 headstones. Headstones could be 1/2 blocks tall and when mined with a pickaxe you can collect them. They can be written on like signs when placed, only made with stone and not wood. Now under the 2 blocks in front of the headstone there can be Coffins. When right clicked or broken these coffins release a vampire. These vampires will take 1/3 health they deal when hitting you. (So say they hit you for 3 damage, they will regenerate a heart). When defeated, the vampires will turn into vampire bats (Which look slightly different then regular bats, and maybe can be found in caves, so when you hit one in a cave, it turns into a vampire) and fly around. When you kill these then you get their drop, which could be whatever. Maybe their teeth or something. (See later in the post) Here are their stats
Health=10
Damage=3 (When they hit you they get 1 heart back.)
Speed=As fast as a human in daytime, but maybe faster at night. Like, add half your speed. (Unless they are defeated, then they fly like a normal bat)
Now you may be thinking, Woah, 3 damage? Thats totally OP But its not. You have a choice to open the coffin or to break it, so make sure your ready before you do. Its totally optional. Also, I forgot to add. When you break a coffin, it is like a bed. You right click it and can sleep like a bed, but the top opens and closes like a chest when you right click it. This doesn't change anything except look cool and people can't see you through the top on multiplayer.
Now, back to the vampire teeth. You can put this in an anvil with a weapon, which gives it the regeneration effect. That makes you regenerate 1/2 a heart when you hit a mob with either iron or diamond, however no stone or wood. This prevents you from refilling your health all the way by spamming with a wood sword. Gives almost a maximum of 2 hearts refilled so long as you didn't take any damage.
Please give me suggestions. I would love to hear them. And remember to comment saying support or not and why you would choose not.
Oh, and here are some pictures of a very crude graveyard that I put together in a couple minutes. Obviously it would look much better with dark fences and actual headstones and coffins, but I think I did ok for the items in-game as of now... I can't get my second pic of the "coffin" (Bed) under this one, but you don't need a picture of that, right?
I like the idea, but it needs to be more original. For now it lacks creativity as vampires have been suggested a lot of time.
But it does have the potential!
Ok. I'll see if I can come up with something. If now, can anyone give suggestions? Oh, and if I still keep the drain attack/buff, would it still be too close to a vampire?
I wanted to suggest a similiar thing, I'd just add a small castle structure for the vampires as well.
It could be placed in the snow biomes and would give them a dark and gritty atmosphere, which I'd like.
This said, the castle could have a lot of hidden rooms etc. pp. to make the whole story interesting.
Good idea.
