In MineCraft, I thought of an idea to give swords a burning aspect for a short time, without enchanting, but would take up 5x the durability. This state of fire would be obtainable by sticking a sword in a furnace. Woah, that was a short idea. Please leave feedback below.

I know that's what enchantments are for, but: a. it would be short time and 5x durability. b. it would be a cheaper version for enchanting c. it wouldn't have a chance of getting other stuff and not fire aspect.
Only wooden swords should be flammable, and they should go out if you go underwater while holding it out, as well as slowly but constantly losing durability until they break.

So you're pointlessly suggesting a second way to get fire aspect when it's already a valuable enchantment?

Flaming swords is the whole reason fire aspect was added into the game. This suggestion makes no sense.

This cosmic dance of bursting decadence and withheld permissions twists all our arms collectively. But, if sweetness can win - and it can - then I'll still be here tomorrow, to high five you, yesterday, my friend. Peace.
Find a dungeon and cross your fingers to get a fire aspect enchantment book if you really want fire aspect. It's not all that difficult finding dungeons if you know what to look for.

So it's good if you're desperate, but don't expect the sword to survive.
