I have recently been working on a pvp map and hoping to include some of the new 1.5 features however when I updated to 1.5 i realised that negative damage values no longer work and so i cant have armor and weapons last forever WHICH I MUST HAVE FOR THE MAP! I have tried using unbreaking however it will still not last that long! Does anyone have any suggestions for me? If someone could help e fix this it would be greatly appreciated and I could put you in the credits for the map thanks.
/enchant now works with ID 0, meaning it can be used to apply protection.
This should do the trick. If you don't like enchantments, I have looked on the Wiki, and there's no mention of negative values having been removed, sorry. I suggest trying the latest snapshot (for 1.5.1) and if it's still broken, report it as a bug.

Just use the /enchant command and put on Unbreaking 10.

Retired StaffHaven't tested it, but it should be if you have a long time on your hands.
Anyway, support for re-adding them. Useful feature.

Pretty much what Mathy said
I don't think they would do that. Bedrock has always been an unbreakable block.
