While thinking of ways to make an automated storage system in my world, I thought that it would be cool if a redstone current could be used to open a chest. Then if you drop an item onto an open chest either by throwing it out of your inventory or using a Dropper directory on top of the chest, it would be inserted into the chest.
But, there's no use now, we have hoppers...
If you put a hopper on the upper side of the chest and then, drop the item into the hopper
It'll go in the chest, this would be nice and useful if we wouldn't have hoppers, since we do, no support.
I know that we can use Hoppers do insert items into chests, but I think they're ugly. So if we could have a system where it drops the items from the ceiling into a chest that is opened at the correct time with redstone under the storage room floor then it would be prettier and cooler imo
